Montenegro Showcases Tourism Potential at New York’s Travel & Adventure Show

The Montenegrin delegation was led by Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Goran Đurović, accompanied by State Secretaries Vuk Žižić and Petar Drašković, and Amel Dedeić, advisor to the Director of the National Tourism Organisation.

Their participation aimed to highlight Montenegro’s diverse tourism offerings and to position the country as a premier destination for American travelers seeking authentic and enriching experiences.
Minister Đurović emphasized the strategic importance of the U.S. market for Montenegro’s tourism sector.

He stated, “Our presence at the Travel & Adventure Show in New York is a testament to our dedication to attracting American tourists. We are committed to showcasing Montenegro’s unique blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and unparalleled hospitality.”
The U.S. market has shown significant potential for Montenegro. In the first eleven months of 2024, Montenegro welcomed over 52,000 American tourists, marking a 9% increase from the previous year and a substantial 48% rise compared to 2019.
These visitors accounted for 226,839 overnight stays, reflecting an impressive growth of 87% since 2019.
At the event, the Montenegrin booth attracted numerous travel influencers and agency representatives. Eartha Franklin, a renowned travel blogger and founder of Wowcations, expressed her enthusiasm about visiting Montenegro, describing it as “a destination brimming with charm and authenticity.”

Dina Amin of Envoy Adventure praised Montenegro’s natural beauty and recounted her memorable visit to the Lady of the Rocks.
The Travel & Adventure Show in New York attracted over 27,000 attendees, offering them the opportunity to explore more than 250 global destinations.
The event featured insights from travel industry leaders, including CBS Travel News editor Peter Greenberg and Phil Keoghan, host of The Amazing Race.
Montenegro’s booth showcased offerings from strategic partner Hotelska grupa “Budvanska rivijera” and local tourism organizations from Budva, Kotor, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Gusinje, and Rožaje.
Participants also included Montenegro Stars Hotel Group and travel agencies such as Gold Travel Agency, Montenegro Adventures DMC, and Monte Vista Travel.
The National Tourism Organization of Montenegro continues to actively promote the country’s tourism potential in key international markets.
By participating in prominent events like the Travel & Adventure Show, Montenegro aims to attract a growing number of international visitors and establish itself as a must-visit destination.
