There will be more flight availability to and from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International in December.

Travel officials in Bali, have confirmed this.

Bali is preparing to welcome a high influx of visitors for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

In 2022, over one million people arrive to celebrate the festive season on the Island of the Gods.

The Indonesian Minster for Tourism and Creative Economies, Sanidaga Uno and his teams are working with airports around the country and airlines.

It is to lay on more flights and stabilise ticket prices.

Speaking from Yogyakarta on Sunday 12th November, Minister Uno said with the increase in the number of flights and the availability of seats, the supply will increase.

During Christmas and New Year they hope that airline ticket prices will be stable and affordable.

The Tourism Minster confirmed that Garuda, Citilink, Batik Air, Lion Air, Super Air Jet, and Air Asia have all added more flights to their schedules in December.

He continued that this is actually an opportunity for destinations such as Jogjakarta, Bandung, Bromo, Tengger, Semeru, and Java-Bali. It is because visitors can reach these places by land.

More number of flight services in December should make it easier and more affordable for tourists to plan a last-minute getaway to Bali during the festive season.

Bali receives a huge influx of domestic and international tourists over the Christmas holidays and resorts and hotels in the most popular destinations.

These include Canggu, Seminyak, Legian, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Uluwatu, and Ubud operate at upwards of 85% occupancy.

Even though flight availability may make it easier to book a last-minute trip, tourists who have their heart set on staying at a specific resort or hotel should book their rooms as soon as possible.

In previous years, the island’s most loved accommodations have sold out long in advance for the festive season.

It just got easier for Australian tourists, Bali’s most frequent international holidaymakers, to visit the island. Last week saw the launch of the Batik Air Adelaide-Bali flight.

The General Manager of Bali Airport Handy Heryudhitiawan told reporters after the inaugural flight touched town on Friday, that, there is quite a lot of demand.

That’s why they are very happy that Batik Air is flying to Bali and is opening the old market.

These are Darwin, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Cairns, and now Adelaide too.

The Director of Operations for Batik Air, Bendri Mardas, told reporters that Adelaide is the fourth city for Batik Air flights after Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.

He confirmed that the airline plans to open a Bali-Canberra direct service in March 2024.
