Six Highlighted Air Canada Services Starting in December 2026

The selected group includes four clearly new city pairs and two Calgary–Mexico winter services. Quito becomes a new Air Canada destination served from two Canadian gateways, while Guatemala City gains a Toronto nonstop connection and Sapporo joins the Vancouver network.

Air Canada’s December 2026 schedule highlights a broad mix of new international routes and returning winter services across Latin America and Asia. Montréal will gain a new three-times-weekly connection to Quito from 4 December, while Toronto will add Quito one day later and Guatemala City in early December. Calgary will strengthen its winter leisure network with three weekly flights to Puerto Vallarta from 10 December and four weekly services to Cancún from 11 December. Vancouver will add another major international link on 17 December with three weekly nonstop flights to Sapporo. Boeing 787 aircraft will operate the Quito and Sapporo services, while Toronto–Guatemala City will use an Airbus A330-300. Air Canada Rouge Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will serve the Calgary routes to Mexico. Together, these services expand travel options between Canada, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Japan, giving passengers more nonstop choices during the busy 2026–27 winter travel season.

Quito Joins Air Canada’s Network From Montréal and Toronto

Ecuador receives two of the most important additions.

Montréal–Quito begins on 4 December. Flight AC962 is scheduled on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing Montréal at 17:40 and reaching Quito at 00:10 the following day. The seasonal operation continues until 26 March 2027.

Toronto follows one day later. Toronto–Quito starts on 5 December with a Saturday departure from Toronto and a Sunday return from Ecuador. It operates until March 2027.

Both services use Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

Air Canada Quito Schedule

The two routes give travellers in eastern Canada direct access to Ecuador’s capital while also allowing connections through Montréal and Toronto.

Toronto Gains a New Nonstop Link to Guatemala City

Another significant December addition connects Toronto with Guatemala City.

Air Canada says the new nonstop service begins in early December 2026 using an Airbus A330-300 fitted with Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy cabins. The airline describes itself as the only carrier offering nonstop Toronto–Guatemala City service.

The route is also set to become year-round. Air Canada’s published summer schedule shows year-round operation beginning 6 May 2027, with flight AC1300 departing Toronto on Thursdays at 18:15 and arriving in Guatemala City at 21:15.

The new Toronto service complements Air Canada’s existing Montréal–Guatemala City route, which began in October 2025. Air Canada has also announced that the Montréal service will extend to year-round operation.

Calgary Reconnects With Cancún and Puerto Vallarta

Mexico receives two Calgary services for the 2026–27 winter season.

Calgary–Puerto Vallarta begins on 10 December with three weekly flights operating Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The service continues until 10 April 2027.

Calgary–Cancún begins on 11 December and operates four times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday through 11 April 2027.

Both routes are operated by Air Canada Rouge Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

Calgary–Mexico Winter Schedule

Air Canada has described these as new Calgary winter services while also referring to its Calgary–Mexico flying as resumed connectivity. For travel reporting, “winter services” or “returning Calgary–Mexico services” is therefore the clearest wording.

Vancouver–Sapporo Creates a Major Canada–Japan Winter Link

The most distinctive route in this group begins on 17 December 2026, when Air Canada launches nonstop flights between Vancouver and Sapporo.

The airline says the service will be the only nonstop connection between North America and Sapporo. Flights operate three times weekly aboard a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Flight AC55 leaves Vancouver on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Return flight AC54 operates from Sapporo on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

The seasonal service continues through late March 2027.
