Visitors from GCC countries played the leading role in Qatar’s tourism performance during the first eight months of 2026. The region contributed 958,000 arrivals, representing 41 per cent of Qatar’s total international visitors during the period.

Short-distance connectivity, frequent air services and land border accessibility continue to encourage visitors from nearby markets to travel to Qatar for leisure, events, shopping, cultural experiences and business activities.

The Americas contributed 169,000 visitors, accounting for 7.2 per cent of Qatar’s total arrivals. Meanwhile, other Arab countries provided 162,000 visitors, representing 6.9 per cent of the overall visitor numbers.

African markets outside Arab countries added another 73,000 visitors, making up approximately 3.1 per cent of Qatar’s arrivals during the period.
