Arranged in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh, the official celebrations greeted over 50 tourism ministers together with many high-level representatives from the private and public sectors. The day showcased expert controlled panels that primarily aimed on the main topics around the theme of this year i.e., Tourism and Green Investments, with strategies backed up with actual actions as UNWTO declared many crucial new efforts.
Zurab Pololikashvili, the UNWTO Secretary-General said that 2023 has been the grandest World Tourism Day celebration observed ever, and they want to make sure it leaves behind the biggest impact as well. From Riyadh, they have joined their global sector and taken a pledge to encourage new places, to expand the financial and social advantages of tourism, and have declared a new school that will change tourism education in Middle East.
The Secretary-General, Pololikashvili introduced in Riyadh, “Tourism Opens Minds”, an innovative initiative planned to display the strong role that the sector plays in connecting the cultures and developing peace and understanding. With the recent information of UNWTO, indicating the sector is good on its path to
revive as much as 95% of the arrivals of the pre-pandemic numbers by the end of Tourism Opens Minds is planned to make sure that this powerful retrieval is joined by a greater prominence on tourists exploring remote places.
