In 2024, Panama City Beach is excited to unveil a host of new attractions, accommodations, and dining options for visitors. These fresh additions are designed to enhance the travel experience and create unforgettable moments on the stunning beaches of this vibrant destination.
“Panama City Beach is thrilled to highlight the many new developments, openings and enhancements throughout the destination in 2024,” says Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO Dan Rowe. “We look forward to welcoming both new and returning visitors to experience the premier accommodations, exciting activities and incredible dining options that await along Panama City Beach’s 27 miles of sugar-white sand beaches.”
Below is a sneak peek at what Panama City Beach has in store for 2024 and beyond.
Lodging Upgrades:
- Marriott’s Residence Inn (Opening Summer 2024): This new 121-suite property will be situated on U.S. Highway 98, close to Pier Park Drive. It offers easy access to local attractions like the Pier Park shopping area and beautiful beaches. The Residence Inn will feature suites with full kitchens, a pool, fitness center, laundry facilities, and a breakfast area.
- Tru by Hilton (Opening Spring 2024): Located on Panama City Beach Parkway, this vibrant and affordable hotel is close to Publix Sports Park and beach access points. It offers a modern design with numerous amenities for a comfortable stay.
Culinary Delights:
- Ford’s Garage (Pier Park, Opening 2024): A burger and brew restaurant set to open in Pier Park, offering American classics in a 1920s service station-themed setting. Ideal for post-beach dining, it features Black Angus burgers and craft beers.
- Tootsies Orchid Lounge (Relocating in 2024): This Nashville-based country music venue, currently in Pier Park, will move to the former Spinnaker Beach Club on Thomas Drive. The new location will offer a larger beachfront space for live entertainment.
- Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show (Opening Spring 2025): A Dolly Parton-themed pirate adventure with a 60,000-square-foot theater where guests can enjoy a meal and a pirate battle show, complete with mermaids, tropical birds, and sea lions.
New Attractions and Experiences:
- DEEP STIM III Vessel Deployment (Early 2024): A 239-foot former oil exploration vessel will be added to Northwest Florida’s artificial reef system, offering a new diving and fishing location.
- Gulf Coast Salute Airshow (May 4-5, 2024): Panama City Beach’s first airshow at Russell-Fields City Pier featuring military demonstrations and exciting aerial displays.
- Frank Brown Park Improvements (Continuing in 2024): Ongoing enhancements to this sports facility, including new courts, a skate park, a BMX park, and additional amenities.
- Accessible Beach Access (Beach Access Point 22, Opening 2024): An ADA-accessible beach access point with special features for those with disabilities.
- Gayle’s Trails New Segment: A recently opened 1.45-mile trail extension, offering scenic nature walks and bike rides.
- Bicycle Lane on Back Beach Road (Expansion in 2024): An ongoing project to add bicycle lanes and sidewalks, improving walkability and reducing traffic.
- TopGolf (Opening Spring 2025): A new high-tech golf entertainment complex in Pier Park, featuring climate-controlled hitting bays, electronic targets, a restaurant, bar, and event space.
