Pattaya Revives Tourism Spirits with Nearly Full AirAsia Flight from Kuala Lumpur

AirAsia today marked a significant milestone by resuming its flight service from Kuala Lumpur to Pattaya, Thailand’s renowned beach destination. Known as Thailand’s eighth largest city, Pattaya is celebrated for its picturesque beaches, vibrant water sports scene, and bustling entertainment options. This relaunch highlights the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and supporting tourism between Malaysia and Thailand.

The celebratory atmosphere was palpable as the inaugural flight, AK840, reported an impressive load factor of nearly 90 percent. Departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2) at 11.20 AM, the flight arrived at U-Tapao–Rayong–Pattaya International Airport at 12.05 PM local time. The arrival was met with excitement, including a traditional water cannon salute, signifying the importance of this route’s reinstatement.

Passengers on board were not just treated to a unique welcome in Pattaya but were also greeted by AirAsia’s enthusiastic team, the Allstars, and representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. This warm reception underscored the collaborative efforts to boost tourism and create memorable experiences for travelers.

This service reinstatement also adds Pattaya to AirAsia’s expanding network, now including nine direct routes from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Penang to various destinations across Thailand. This network encompasses major cities like Bangkok (both Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi Airports), Krabi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hatyai, further establishing AirAsia as a key player in regional travel.
