PortMiami achieved its highest-ever passenger total of 8,233,056 in fiscal year 2024, marking a 12.79% increase from the previous year. The port is an essential driver of Miami-Dade County’s economy, contributing $61 billion annually and supporting over 340,000 jobs.

New Developments at PortMiami
The port’s recovery post-pandemic has been fueled by strategic partnerships and new developments. In 2024, PortMiami opened three new cruise terminals: Norwegian Cruise Line’s Terminal B, Carnival Corporation’s Terminal F, and Virgin Voyages’ Terminal V. A key milestone in sustainability was reached with the introduction of shore power on June 17, 2024. This initiative allows ships to plug into shore-side electrical power, reducing emissions and noise. PortMiami now offers shore power at five cruise berths, making it the first major cruise port on the U.S. East Coast to do so.
