International boutique hospitality company The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is preparing for its next stage of global expansion with the launch of The First Cortina on 4 December 2026. The new 76-room luxury property will strengthen the group’s presence in Europe while marking an important milestone in the development of its three-brand portfolio strategy.

The opening of The First Cortina will extend the success of The First luxury hotel collection, following the group’s contemporary properties in Rome. Together with the wellness-focused REVĪVŌ and the destination-driven The Pavilions collection, The First will form a complementary brand structure designed to support future growth across global markets.

The new Cortina property reflects The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts’ long-standing commitment to creating distinctive hospitality experiences built around design, wellness, local culture and destination-focused dining. Located on the prestigious Corso Italia, The First Cortina will revive one of the destination’s most sought-after addresses while maintaining a strong connection with the character and heritage of the surrounding area.

The group’s development philosophy centres on preserving the unique identity of each location through thoughtful architecture, creative design and personalised guest experiences. This approach has shaped successful projects including Casa Almagro, Madrid by The Pavilions and The First Roma Dolce by The Pavilions, where historic buildings have been transformed into contemporary luxury retreats while retaining their original charm and cultural significance.

Alongside its expertise in restoring heritage properties, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts has also demonstrated strong capabilities in developing new-build destinations. Projects such as The Pavilions Phuket and The Pavilions Bali highlight the group’s ability to create highly individual hotels that reflect their locations while delivering internationally recognised hospitality standards.

With The First Cortina joining its expanding portfolio, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is positioning its three distinct brands to deliver diverse luxury experiences across urban, resort and wellness destinations worldwide.

Following the strong response to its first location at The First Dolce, luxury pasticceria Velo is expanding with a second destination at The First Cortina. The new outpost will complement the hotel’s flagship dining venue, Zuma Cortina, strengthening The Pavilions’ growing portfolio of distinctive culinary concepts. Through strategic international collaborations and its own innovative restaurant brands, The Pavilions continues to develop dining experiences with strong cultural and social relevance. Its portfolio already includes ALTO in Italy and Phuket, the two-MICHELIN-starred Acquolina at The First Arte, and NUTRIO, the wellness-focused dining concept created by REVĪVŌ in Bali.

Building on the success of REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort, The First Cortina marks an important expansion of the group’s specialised wellness and longevity philosophy across its luxury hospitality collection. The hotel’s 1,000-square-metre REVĪVŌ Spa and Wellness centre brings together traditional healing practices with modern, science-based wellness methods, creating a personalised alpine retreat experience.

Designed to reflect the surrounding mountain environment, the wellness facility combines advanced equipment, premium treatment spaces and carefully selected elements from REVĪVŌ’s signature six-pillar wellness programme. The concept aims to support physical recovery, mental balance and long-term wellbeing while offering guests a refined luxury experience in the heart of Cortina.

The launch follows the successful opening of REVĪVŌ Spa at Château de Fiac, where the wellness concept was adapted to suit the property’s intimate château atmosphere. With The First Cortina, the group continues its strategy of bringing its specialist wellness expertise and lifestyle-driven hospitality approach to new destinations worldwide.

Gordon Oldham, founder of The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, commented, “We have always believed that the most compelling hotels have a strong sense of individuality and belonging to their surroundings. The First Cortina brings that philosophy to one of the world’s great alpine destinations, creating a contemporary social address shaped by design, dining and wellness.”

An international boutique hospitality group focused on growing through ownership, management and franchise partnerships, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts continues to explore suitable development opportunities across Europe and Asia, with a focus on distinctive properties and destinations where its brands can create long-term value for owners, partners and guests. “Our growth strategy is focused on building breadth and depth, as well as scale. The Pavilions, The First, and REVĪVŌ provide three distinct platforms from which to pursue opportunities across different destinations and segments, while allowing us to remain selective about the properties and partnerships we take on.” said Florence Wong, Chief Executive Officer of The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts.

The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts collection features 13 distinctive, award-winning properties located across key destinations in Asia and Europe. Several hotels within the portfolio have earned global recognition, including The Pavilions Phuket, The First Arte, Rome by The Pavilions, and REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort, Bali, which each received One Key status in the MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection 2025. The Toren, Amsterdam by The Pavilions, achieved another milestone by securing its fourth consecutive ‘Best of the Best’ honour in the Tripadvisor® Travelers’ Choice® Awards, while The Pavilions Bali and The First Arte, Rome by The Pavilions were recognised among the top 10 per cent of hotels worldwide on Tripadvisor.

Reservations are now available for The First Cortina by The Pavilions, with guests able to stay from 4 December 2026. The new Cortina Premiere opening package is priced from EUR 663 (approximately GBP 568) per night for two guests sharing and includes exclusive benefits such as a 15 per cent accommodation discount, daily breakfast and afternoon tea at Velo.
