Quark Expeditions unveils the Ocean Explorer, a 138-passenger polar ship, ready for 2024/2025 Antarctic season with cutting-edge technology.

Quark Expeditions, renowned for its polar adventure expertise, proudly unveils its newest fleet member: the Ocean Explorer. This 138-passenger vessel, designed for polar expeditions, is set to embark on its inaugural journey with Quark Expeditions during the Antarctic season of 2024/2025.

Quark Expeditions’ President, Andrew White, emphasizes the importance of top-tier expedition teams and ships in polar exploration. “We pride ourselves on providing both. The Ocean Explorer is an ideal enhancement to our fleet, offering a blend of adventure, luxury, and cutting-edge technology, specifically crafted for our discerning polar travelers.”

The Ocean Explorer boasts advanced expedition technology, enhancing every aspect of the polar journey. It offers a wide range of off-ship adventure opportunities, prioritizes safety and sustainability, and provides exceptional interior comfort and space. Its unique X-Bow design and impressive two-story forward lounge make it a standout for memorable polar voyages.

“Our vast array of innovative itineraries and polar experiences, like kayaking in Antarctica or flightseeing above Greenland’s Ice Sheet, are made possible by our diverse fleet,” notes White. “Our array of small polar vessels allows guests to tailor their journey, selecting their preferred mode of exploration in the Polar Regions for an unparalleled expedition experience.”

The Infinity-class Ocean Explorer, delivered in 2021 by SunStone Maritime Group, a leading builder of expedition-only ships, joins the fleet with top-tier Ice Class 1A and PC6 ratings, matching the capabilities of its future sister ship, the technologically advanced Ultramarine.

Bookings are open for Ocean Explorer’s voyages in the Antarctic seasons of 2024/2025 and 2025/2026, as well as the Arctic season of 2025, with Quark Expeditions.
