MSC Cruises has confirmed that its flagship LNG-powered ship, MSC World Europa, will return to the Middle East for the 2027–28 winter season, marking its second year in a row sailing the Arabian Gulf. The move reflects a growing appetite for premium cruise experiences among travelers in the region and underlines MSC Cruises’ long-term confidence in the Middle East market, particularly as interest from GCC guests continues to rise.

The ship, which first made its Middle East debut during the 2022–23 winter season, will operate back-to-back winter programs across both the 2026–27 and 2027–28 seasons. Carrying up to 4,400 guests, MSC World Europa will offer a range of seven-night cruises calling at popular destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha.

Plans also include expanding itineraries with potential new stops in Bahrain and Sir Bani Yas Island, giving guests even more ways to explore the region by sea. With its return, MSC World Europa reinforces the Gulf’s growing status as a key hub for luxury cruising and destination-rich itineraries.

The Ship’s Arrival and New Itineraries

Ahead of the 2027–28 season, MSC World Europa will make its way to the Arabian Gulf on a 21-night repositioning cruise, departing in late November 2027. The ship will travel from the Mediterranean to the Middle East, stopping at several notable ports along the way, including Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Piraeus (Athens), Marmaris, Limassol, and Alexandria. The voyage will also include calls at Muscat and Doha, before arriving in Dubai, where the vessel will be homeported for its Gulf season.

Once stationed in Dubai, MSC World Europa will mirror the successful itineraries of the previous year, offering seven-night cruises that interport between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha. Guests will be able to explore the sights and cultural landmarks of the UAE, Qatar, and other Gulf destinations, while enjoying MSC Cruises’ luxury onboard experience. In addition to these core ports, the ship may also make visits to Bahrain, Sir Bani Yas Island, and other regional locations, enhancing the diversity of available excursions for passengers.

A Ship Designed for Family-Friendly Luxury

MSC World Europa is a next-generation resort ship that combines cutting-edge technology with family-friendly amenities, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. The ship features expansive outdoor spaces, seven swimming pools, and multiple Aquapark zones, offering guests plenty of opportunities to unwind and have fun.

Onboard entertainment options are diverse, with several theatres and lounges providing a range of shows and performances. The ship is also equipped with a large family and kids’ zone, ensuring that younger passengers are kept entertained throughout the voyage. Sports enthusiasts will find a variety of courts and fitness facilities, while those seeking relaxation can enjoy the ship’s full-service spa and wellness center.

In terms of dining, MSC World Europa offers 13 restaurants and around 20 bars and lounges, providing guests with a wide range of culinary options. From gourmet meals to casual dining, there’s something to suit every palate, ensuring that every meal onboard is a memorable experience.

MSC Cruises’ Growing Commitment to the Middle East

MSC Cruises’ return to the Middle East for the 2027–28 season follows the success of its previous regional deployments. The company resumed Middle East operations in late 2025 with MSC Euribia, marking the cruise line’s return to the region after a three-year hiatus. The addition of MSC World Europa to the region’s itineraries underscores MSC Cruises’ confidence in the continued growth of the Middle Eastern cruise market.

The 2026–27 season will see MSC Euribia homeporting in Dubai from 8 November 2025 to 1 April 2026. The ship will offer a variety of three-, four-, and seven-night itineraries across the Arabian Gulf, with key calls at Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas Island, Doha, Manama, and Muscat. These sailings provide a seamless and luxurious way for travelers to explore the region’s stunning coastlines, ancient cultures, and modern landmarks.

A Hub for Global Cruise Growth

The Middle East is becoming an increasingly important cruise hub, with Dubai and other Gulf cities rapidly developing into global cruise destinations. The return of MSC World Europa and the deployment of MSC Euribia further highlight the region’s growing appeal to international travelers. As more visitors from Europe, Asia, and North America seek immersive and luxurious ways to experience the Arabian Gulf, MSC Cruises is positioning itself as a key player in this expanding market.

In addition to the ship deployments, the success of the Connections Cruise Arabia event, which will return to Dubai in 2026, is indicative of the region’s rising profile in the global cruise industry. This event will bring together over 500 travel professionals from across the cruise ecosystem, reinforcing the importance of the Middle East in the broader cruise sector.

Exploring the Arabian Gulf

Cruise travelers visiting the Middle East on MSC World Europa will have access to some of the most captivating destinations in the Arabian Gulf. Dubai, with its iconic skyline and luxurious shopping malls, is a city that offers both modernity and tradition. Abu Dhabi’s stunning beaches, cultural sites, and world-class attractions like the Louvre Abu Dhabi make it an essential stop. Doha, the capital of Qatar, offers a mix of traditional markets and futuristic architecture, while Bahrain and Sir Bani Yas Island provide a more serene escape with opportunities for nature exploration and water-based activities.
