Reviving iconic luxury: Dusit celebrates topping off of reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel

Dusit Thani Public Company Limited (DUSIT), a prominent hotel and property development firm in Thailand, has achieved a significant milestone in the revival of its renowned flagship hotel, Dusit Thani Bangkok. The newly constructed structure, situated on the same prime location as the original property that graced the Bangkok skyline from 1970 to 2019, has officially reached its pinnacle.

Scheduled to open in the second half of 2024, the reimagined flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok is the focal point of Dusit Central Park, a landmark USD 1.37 billion mixed-use development opposite Lumpini Park in the heart of Bangkok. This eagerly awaited project includes ultra-luxury residences (Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside), a cutting-edge office tower, a high-end retail center, and an 11,200 sq m Roof Park, with gradual openings expected in 2025 and 2026.

Comprising 257 guestrooms, one of Bangkok’s largest ballrooms, and a diverse range of innovative dining, wellness, and meeting facilities, the new 39-storey Dusit Thani Bangkok signifies a contemporary transformation of the original hotel. It aims to enhance Dusit’s global standing while reinterpreting its heritage through a modern lens.

Incorporating signature elements from the original property, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok proudly features the original property’s golden spire, thoughtfully preserved and returned during the topping-off ceremony. This iconic spire now stands as a symbol of luxury for discerning travelers worldwide. Housed within a new, larger golden spire, the original spire will be part of a mini exhibition space serving as a permanent museum. This space, located directly beneath the structure, is dedicated to preserving the memory of the original hotel, offering guests and visitors interactive exhibits showcasing the property’s storied legacy, panoramic views of Lumpini Park, and numerous photo opportunities against the backdrop of the original spire.
