In South Australia, doing business or taking a leisurely holiday has recently become very seamless with the addition of supplementary Rex flights into Adelaide today.

This inaugural Adelaide-Brisbane Rex Airlines service will offer an extra 124,000 seating arrangement between the two cities a year. This would increase the access into SA from Queensland, the third largest interstate visitor market of the state.

Also, the flights will help in boosting the connectivity of the state through the network of Rex Airlines with the additional flight services linking South Australia to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney on a daily basis.

Also, it helps capturing a larger share in terms of the national domestic visitor expenses, which is presently worth $8.9 billion to South Australia. Before COVID struck the world, almost 875,000 people every year had flown between Adelaide and Brisbane, offering greater number of connections to Queensland, their third biggest domestic market and value of around $500 million per year to their economy.

The declaration of today is on the back of big news earlier this month of increased overseas flight services into Adelaide. Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines both have assured supplementary capacity into Adelaide, increasing their services from yesterday, and Singapore Airlines on a per week basis adding extra four flights over the summer as well.
