Plaza Premium Opens Two New Premium Lounges at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

Two new airport hospitality offerings have been launched in Bangkok, Thailand, in the form of Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge, both opened by Plaza Premium Group (PPG). This two-lounge concept provides a choice of two distinct places to lounge, dine, work, and relax for passengers who are departing from and transiting through Bangkok, depending on their individual preferences. The opening is notable for Plaza Premium Group, as it is the first step into Thailand and an expansion of the company’s operations in Southeast Asia’s airport hospitality industry. Both venues are conveniently situated airside in Concourse G, third floor near Gate G1, available to all departing and transiting international passengers irrespective of the airline and class of travel. The combined area of the lounges is 790 square metres, which allows hosting up to 149 people. Plaza Premium First has a total area of 212 square metres, being able to host up to 51 passengers, while Plaza Premium Lounge occupies 578 square metres, having a capacity of 98 passengers.
Plaza Premium First Focuses on Personalised Hospitality
The more exclusive of the two facilities, Plaza Premium First, is designed for travellers seeking privacy, individual attention and a more refined pre-flight experience.

Its facilities include private lounge bays, shower suites and dedicated concierge assistance. The dining experience centres on Primo Dining, an à la carte concept featuring Thai specialities alongside a more personalised food and beverage service.
The menu includes dishes such as Aep Pla, a banana-leaf grilled fish preparation, Tom Kha Gai and Northern-style Khao Soi. These regional offerings bring elements of Thai cuisine into the airport environment, allowing international visitors to experience local flavours before leaving the country.

The lounge also features the Aero Bar, where guests can choose from spirits, wine and original cocktails. One of its signature creations is the Siamese Martini, inspired by the flavours of Tom Yum.
The emphasis on private seating, concierge support and individual dining makes Plaza Premium First particularly relevant to business travellers, frequent flyers and passengers seeking a quieter environment between flights.

Plaza Premium Lounge Offers a Wider Range of Facilities
The adjoining Plaza Premium Lounge provides a different experience, with a focus on comfort, convenience and flexibility for a broader passenger base.
Its 578-square-metre layout includes comfortable seating, a live kitchen and buffet dining. The menu highlights Thai dishes such as Som Tam, Gai Ping skewers and Luk Chup sweets, offering travellers a taste of regional food within the international departures area.

The facility also includes high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, shower suites, a multi-faith room and family facilities. These amenities cater to passengers with different requirements, from those looking to catch up on work to families seeking a comfortable place to spend time before boarding.
Dedicated spaces for solo travellers, families and business passengers give the larger lounge a broader purpose than a conventional waiting area. For passengers facing extended transit times, access to food, showers, charging facilities and a quieter seating environment can make airport stays more comfortable.
The distinction between the two facilities allows travellers to select an experience according to their needs, rather than relying on a single lounge format for every passenger category.
Thai Art and Cuisine Shape the Lounge Experience
Local cultural elements form an important part of the design approach across both facilities. Plaza Premium Group has incorporated artworks by contemporary Thai artists, using traditional influences and different creative materials to give the spaces a stronger connection with their location.

The art programme includes custom silk embroidery, glass mosaics, plant-dyed textiles and denim-crafted cityscapes. These installations bring Thai artistic references into the airport environment while giving international passengers a visual introduction to the country’s creative culture.
The food offering follows a similar approach. Rather than relying entirely on international buffet selections, the lounges feature recognisable Thai dishes and regional specialities.
For an airport handling a substantial volume of international passengers, these local touches can contribute to a more distinctive visitor experience. They also give travellers an opportunity to encounter Thai cuisine and design without leaving the terminal.
Suvarnabhumi’s Passenger Growth Supports the Expansion
The launch comes as Suvarnabhumi continues to serve as one of Southeast Asia’s major international aviation gateways. The airport handled 62.9 million passengers in 2025, with international traffic accounting for more than 80 per cent of the total, according to Plaza Premium Group’s announcement.
Airports of Thailand is also advancing infrastructure expansion plans intended to increase the airport’s annual capacity from approximately 65 million to 80 million passengers by 2030. The growth outlook provides a larger operating environment for airlines, retailers, food operators and airport hospitality providers.
Plaza Premium Group’s entry into Thailand adds another independent lounge operator to the airport’s international departures offering. Its dual format is intended to serve passengers with different expectations, including corporate travellers, families, solo passengers and those seeking more personalised services.

The company’s founder and chief executive, Song Hoi-See, described Bangkok as a natural location for the group’s flagship dual-lounge launch in Thailand, citing the city’s importance as a regional aviation and tourism gateway.
Access and Booking Options for International Passengers
Both the lounges are available to all international passengers or transit passengers passing through Suvarnabhumi Airport irrespective of their airline and class of travel if they satisfy the requirements for the use of the lounge. The use of the lounge does not require any reservation, but reservations can be made through the booking site of Plaza Premium Lounge. The company has introduced Multi-use Lounge Passes which cost a minimum of US$69. The launch of the lounges provides greater options for travellers departing from Concourse G and allows international travellers to choose between personalised premium lounge services or a large lounge with food facilities for families and business travellers.
