The Siem Reap Provincial Administration has released an announcement regarding road closures and traffic adjustments during the upcoming River Festival scheduled from March 15-17, 2024.

The administration expresses its privilege to inform locals, national and international tourists, and the general public about the organization of the 8th River Festival, themed “River for Peace and Development.” This event, coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with various ministries, institutions, and private sectors, aims to promote the conservation of sustainable river resources and diversify tourism opportunities across Cambodia’s river provinces, attracting visitors to the region.

The festival promises a vibrant array of activities, including concerts, art performances, exhibitions, fireworks displays, as well as boating, archery, and cycling events.

In light of ensuring smooth traffic flow and enhancing security, safety, and public order during the festival, the Siem Reap Provincial Administration will implement temporary traffic suspensions and parking arrangements as outlined below:

  1. Closure of Preah Sihanouk Blvd. Road from Preah Reach Damnak Stone Bridge to Angkor National Museum traffic light.
  2. Suspension of traffic along the section of Po Kambor Road (west side of the river) from Preah Reach Damnak Stone Bridge to Wat Damnak Bridge and the river entrance.
  3. Temporary closure of Achar Sva Road (east of the river) from the Wat Damnak roundabout to the north of the former Provincial Department of Tourism bridge and river entrance.
  4. Suspension of traffic on National Road No. 6 from Hotel J7 to Koh Ker traffic light.
  5. Closure of Pubster Road and additional sections based on prevailing traffic conditions.
  6. Provision of designated parking areas for dignitaries, honored guests, and the general public, detailed in the accompanying map.

These measures aim to facilitate smooth traffic management and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for festival attendees, thereby enhancing the overall appeal of Siem Reap as a tourist destination.
