Singapore Airlines Group Clinches Prestigious Awards at ATW Airline Industry Achievement Ceremony

The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group has been awarded two distinguished honors at the annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards organized by Air Transport World (ATW) magazine.

Goh Choon Phong, serving as the CEO of Singapore Airlines (SIA), was honored with the 2024 Excellence in Leadership Award. Concurrently, Scoot, the budget carrier subsidiary of the group, was distinguished as the Value Airline of the Year. These accolades come on the heels of the group’s prior accolade, being celebrated as Airline of the Year by Air Transport World (ATW) in 2023.

Regarded as some of the most sought-after awards in the aviation sector, the ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards are determined by a select panel from Aviation Week Network’s ATW, CAPA, and Routes.

Ms Karen Walker, Editor-in-Chief, Air Transport World, said: “Singapore Airlines and its low-cost carrier, Scoot, are highly regarded airlines that set global standards for customer service, innovation, operational performance, and taking care of their employees. That takes visionary leadership, so I am delighted we are recognising Mr Goh Choon Phong as the 2024 ATW Excellence in Leadership recipient and Scoot as the 2024 ATW Value Airline of the Year. Both are very well deserved.”

The Excellence in Leadership Award celebrates Mr. Goh’s significant contributions to the SIA Group and acknowledges the successful rebound of Singapore Airlines and Scoot from the Covid-19 pandemic’s impacts. With Goh at the helm, both airlines quickly adapted as travel restrictions lifted, maintaining their industry leadership.

SIA has shown a steadfast dedication to enhancing the customer experience through improvements in its network, offerings, and digital presence. Additionally, it has bolstered its strategic position in India with the forthcoming merger of Air India and Vistara, securing a 25.1% stake in the expanded Air India Group.

Scoot’s acknowledgment as the Value Airline of the Year reflects its dedication to providing an exceptional and affordable travel experience, underscored by its continued expansion, workforce development, and technological investments. These efforts have led to significant achievements in passenger revenue, load factors, and profitability for Scoot.
