Singapore's Gardens

In anticipation of the highly awaited Porsche Singapore Classic, a unique chipping contest was organized at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. This event brought together ambassadors and sports enthusiasts for a special encounter amidst the stunning setting of a remarkable art installation.

Golf influencer Rebecca De Foe, beach volleyball player Eliza Chong, and car enthusiast David Foo were the highlights of this engaging golf activity at Gardens by the Bay, setting the stage for excitement leading up to the Porsche Singapore Classic.

The event was centered around the impressive seven-meter tall “The Cocoon” installation, which made its debut during Singapore Art Week. This installation was the spotlight for the global unveiling of the new all-electric Porsche Macan, blending art with automotive innovation seamlessly.

Designed by Marc Fornes, a New York-based architect and artist, in collaboration with Style Porsche, “The Cocoon” consists of more than 6,000 pieces of ultra-thin aluminum. It draws inspiration from Porsche’s renowned design ethos. In this extraordinary setting, the participants took part in a friendly chipping contest, demonstrating their passion and skill for both golf and automotive innovation.

Porsche’s partnership with the Porsche Singapore Classic, a notable event on the DP World Tour marking the start of their “Asian Swing,” from March 21 to 24 at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club, highlights the brand’s dedication to excellence and sporting achievement. As golf enthusiasts look forward to the tournament, the trio seized the chance to showcase their talents in this unparalleled setting.

Reflecting on the experience, De Foe remarked, “Honestly, I’ve teed off in front of many people before, but this was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences I’ve had.” Chong, who recently embarked on her golfing journey with insights from Executive Championship Director, Patrick Bowers, expressed her excitement, stating, “Despite being new to golf, it was incredibly enjoyable, and I can’t wait for the tournament to begin in March.”

As excitement mounts for the Porsche Singapore Classic, this engaging chipping contest acts as a perfect introduction to the exciting golf action that awaits both participants and spectators.

The Porsche Panamera Shootout is set to be a major attraction at the spectator village during this year’s event. It invites eager golf enthusiasts and novices alike to take part in a “nearest to the pin” challenge, where the top performers will qualify for The Porsche Panamera Shootout. These fortunate qualifiers will then compete in a hole-in-one contest, with the grand prize being a new Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid – mirroring the prestigious award the professionals vie for in the tournament.
