Swiss aerospace trailblazer, Sirius Aviation AG, proudly announces a historic collaboration with MEHAIR, India’s foremost seaplane operator, securing an impressive order of 50 units of the Sirius Millennium Jet. This groundbreaking agreement encompasses 50 firm orders, with an option for an additional 50, amounting to a value of approximately $400 million. The Sirius Jet, the world’s premier hydrogen-powered, zero-emissions aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities, showcases remarkable features including high-speed performance, quieter ducted fan jets, and an innovative hydrogen powertrain. With an exceptional range of 1150 miles, eight times that of conventional eVTOLs, and a remarkable speed of 323 mph, three times faster, it promises to redefine the landscape of air travel.

In this historic venture, MEHAIR will oversee the assembly of 50 Sirius Millennium Jets and 1,400 Millennium Hydrogen Fan Jets, alongside the integration of 50 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powertrains and 10 Hydrogen Generation Units in India, heralding a new era of carbon-neutral aviation.

Alexey Popov, CEO of Sirius Aviation AG, stated, “This strategic partnership with MEHAIR lays the groundwork for a greener future in air travel, demonstrating a dedication to eco-conscious aviation and technological prowess.”

Siddharth Verma, Managing Director of MEHAIR, remarked, “Teaming up with Sirius Jet signifies a significant leap for India’s aviation sector, offering passengers luxurious yet environmentally friendly travel with zero emissions.”

Key initiatives under this partnership include establishing final assembly lines for hydrogen VTOL jets in India, developing franchise models for sales and post-sales support, navigating product certification processes in India, building a robust green hydrogen infrastructure nationwide, designing and operating Verti-ports across India, and providing comprehensive training for Sirius Jet fleet operation and maintenance.

Earlier this year, Sirius Aviation AG unveiled its revolutionary Hydrogen-Electric Ducted Fan Propulsion System for the Sirius Jet in Switzerland, with esteemed partners such as BMW Group Designworks, Sauber Group F1, Leonardo Aerostructures, and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in attendance, highlighting the potent collaboration driving the future of aviation.

By 2025, the Sirius Jet will be introduced in two versions: the Sirius Business Jet, tailored for private use, and the Sirius Millennium Jet, designed for commercial operations.

This landmark collaboration represents a pivotal moment in sustainable aviation, aligning with India’s clean energy objectives and spearheading transformative growth in the industry.
