SKY express champions gender equality: joins IATA’s 25by2025 initiative

The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 25by2025 program has received a significant boost from SKY Express, the top Greek airline, indicating a daring step towards promoting gender equality in the aviation sector. The statement was made at the esteemed Wings of Change Europe (WoCE) conference in Amsterdam, where authorities, experts, and leaders of the aviation sector gathered to discuss important air transportation challenges.

By agreeing with IATA’s aim to achieve a 25% increase in women’s participation in senior roles and under-represented categories by 2025, SKY Express recognizes the critical relevance of gender balance and diversity. With excitement, Mrs. Vasiliki Christidi, General Manager of IOGR Group (SKY Express), described the achievement as a noteworthy turning point and evidence of the airline’s commitment to a more sustainable and gender-balanced aviation future.

The pledge covers important tenets, including leadership accountability, fostering an inclusive workplace, equal opportunity, educational initiatives, and industry partnerships. SKY Express is dedicated to eradicating gender prejudice from hiring and advancement procedures, creating an inclusive work environment, and guaranteeing leadership responsibility via open communication and ongoing development.

IATA’s Director of Talent, Learning, Engagement, and Diversity, Mrs. Jane Hoskisson, praised SKY Express for participating in the program and emphasized its contribution to shifting the industry’s emphasis to inclusion, equity, and diversity.

By actively interacting with stakeholders, educational institutions, and industry partners, SKY Express hopes to exchange best practices and work together on projects that further the overarching objectives of the IATA 25by2025 initiative.
