South Korea & Vietnam fortify tourism cooperation

In a major development, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism and the Busan Tourism Organization in South Korea together is set to improve the teamwork and encourage tourist exchange. The meeting between the Chairman of VNAT, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, and the President/CEO of Busan Tourism Organization, Mr. Lee Jong Sil, organized in Hanoi, shows the commitment to advancing partnership in tourism.


Nguyen Trung Khanh, the Chairman, emphasized that the strong and warm relationship between South Korea and Vietnam, outspreading to all facades of partnership, including the tourism sector. This collaboration is targeted to strengthen these bonds and ease higher amount of communication between the two countries.


Nguyen Trung Khanh provided an inspiring update on the tourism landscape of Vietnam. The country is currently seeing a strong revival, both in terms of domestic and international. In the first eight months of 2023 in particular, Vietnam welcomed global tourists at a huge rate. It reached almost 98% of the 2023 target. To Vietnam, Korean visitors have rebounded as well, reviving to 81% of the levels of pre-pandemic times in 2019. At the same time, Vietnamese tourists are more and more exploring South Korean attractions.


In Vietnam, Nguyen Trung Khanh applauded the role played by the Promotion Office of Busan Tourism Organization.
