The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is concentrating on making sure that tourists from all
around the world see Thailand in a very different perspective, as a sustainable place that prioritizes
ecological shield, said Thapanee Kiatphaiboon, the TAT Governor.
The TAT will aim on enlightening overseas tourists so that they see that the country’s tourism segment is
going paces to bring itself in line with the worldwide drift toward bigger sustainability.
Thapanee said that Thailand is aiming to become a high-worth and sustainable tourism place to ensure
that their tourism sector is not tangled in harming the world.
The new TAT governor, who took charge on Sept 1, said that the tourism segment has confronted threats
from environmental matters. She spoke about wildfires in northern part of Thailand, which upset tourism for months.
Thapanee said that a bad atmosphere disheartens tourists from returning. They interpret this as a
second-rate destination. In order to turn Thailand into an excellent place, they need to alter perception of
tourists and sustainable tourism is something that they desire.
The TAT has advanced its own Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs) founded on the United Nations’
Sustainable Development Goals for attaining net-zero greenhouse-gas discharges by 2050.
