The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has wrapped up the second edition of “The One for Nature” project, featuring a range of online and on-ground responsible tourism initiatives. These efforts reflect Thailand’s commitment to high-value and sustainable tourism experiences, building upon the success of the campaign’s first edition in 2020.

Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, said that the campaign aligns with the TAT’s Corporate Plan 2023-2027, focusing on elevating TAT’s role as a strategic leader in promoting experience-based and sustainable tourism in Thailand. He added, “Activities under ‘The One for Nature’ campaign are conceptualised to strengthen the awareness of Amazing Thailand as a quality destination for sustainable tourism that appeals to environmentally conscious travellers.”

Following the rejuvenation and restoration of Thailand’s natural beauty, the second edition of the “The One for Nature” campaign provided environmentally conscious tourists from all over the world with the chance to immerse themselves in even more abundant natural surroundings.

The campaign commenced with a series of online and on-ground activities held from August to September 2023. The one-month online campaign, which generated 10,369,360 impressions, encouraged travellers to participate by uploading their favourite travel destination photo in Thailand. Participants were then invited to share the photos on social media for their friends to vote.

The campaign rewarded the top two participants with the highest votes with an exclusive four-day/three-night sustainable tour package. Each package included round-trip flight tickets for two, accommodation, meals, and activities. Additionally, the third, fourth, and fifth-place winners were also given prizes for their participation

On-ground responsible tourism activities took place at Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya, Chon Buri, and the Walking Streets in Chiang Mai and Phuket. Travelers participated in recycle and turn trash into treasure workshops. With cooperation from TAT, SCG, and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, the campaign came to an end in Phuket. In order to restore the marine ecosystem, artificial reefs in the shape of elephants were built at Ko Racha Yai using materials that are safe for the ocean. The Racha Phuket Hotel and volunteer master divers preceded the project.
