Telangana villages judged as best tourism village

The Ministry of Tourism of Telangana has selected Pembarthi and Chandlapur as the best tourism villages for 2023. This on Monday was declared by G. Kishan Reddy, the central tourism minister.


While talking to the media, he mentioned that on the occasion of World Tourism Day on September 27 th , both of the abovementioned villages will get awards during a special function in the capital city New Delhi. In Telangana, the Modi government recognized the tourism places and handicrafts and in November 2021, he had recognized Bhoodan Pochampalli as a tourism village.


From the Kakatiya times, Pembarthi has been in existence and is known for bronze and brass products. These products are exported to countries like Germany, Belgium, the U.S., and Japan.


Every year, almost 25,000 people come to this village. These villages are also known for eye-catching figurines of gods and goddesses, home decorations and other excellent handicrafts, he said. Chandlapur village is famous for Gollabama saris, the renowned Ranganayaka Swamy temple, and other local crafts of the region.


The Minister also emphasized that the Central government promoted Telangana arts and crafts actively, particularly at the time of the recently concluded G-20 summit, where several international delegates were presented with the Pochampally scarves and saris.
