Six multinational firms have shown keen interest in building world-class entertainment complexes in Thailand. These 100-billion-baht projects, supported by the recently approved Entertainment Complex Business Act, aim to transform Thailand into a global tourism and family-friendly entertainment hub. Contrary to initial speculation, gambling will occupy only 5% of the total area, as the government focuses on comprehensive tourist destinations inspired by Singapore, Macau, and Las Vegas.
Each complex will feature over 5,000 luxury hotel rooms, a 16,000-seat indoor sports arena, Michelin-starred restaurants, theme parks, convention centres, and concert halls. The projects aim to boost Thailand’s tourism sector and generate tax revenue by legalizing aspects of the underground gambling industry.
The government has set stringent criteria for investors, requiring at least 10 billion baht in registered capital and the ability to invest a minimum of 100 billion baht. The six firms, with proven expertise in managing global entertainment destinations, are poised to redefine luxury tourism in Thailand, catering to families and high-spending travelers alike.
