The Maharashtra government approves Beach Shack Policy

On Friday, the Maharashtra government has approved the Beach Shack Policy. In Konkan, this policy is targeting to boost up tourism and relevant industry development. Officials will draft development plans for Mumbai and Goa tourist destinations under this policy. These would be promoted extensively and huge development works would be done, assures the Aaditya Thackeray, the state tourism minister.


The online meeting was arranged to reassess different efforts in boosting tourism in Konkan. It was attended Uday Samant, minister for higher and technical education and guardian minister of Sindhudurg District, M P Vinayak Raut, MLA Deepak Kesarkar, Valsa-Nair Singh, principal secretary for tourism and others.


Aaditya Thackeray said that for agri-tourism, there’s immense scope in Konkan including beach shack tourism, caravan tourism, tent tourism and similar opportunities, creating huge job possibilities for the locals of this region.
