Tourism Ireland is excited to announce that applications are now open for its 2025 International Programming Ireland Fund. Now in its fifth year, this Fund aims to bring the beauty, culture, and rich heritage of the island of Ireland to a global audience through captivating and high-quality TV projects.
Launched in 2021, the Fund has already supported over 50 impressive TV programmes, including celebrity-led travelogues such as Julia Bradbury’s Irish Journey for Channel 4, and cultural travel series like Ireland with Michael by Wexford House for PBS. It has also backed documentaries like Titanic, Our Secret Histories for Channel 4 and Home of Halloween, currently in production for ARTE. Nature lovers have also been treated to programmes such as Ireland’s Wild Islands by Crossing the Line Productions for ARTE, Smithsonian, Sky Nature UK, and SVT Sweden. The Fund has even extended its support to game show formats, including Het Perfecte Plaatje by ITV Netherlands for RTL4.

Successful applicants for the 2025 Fund will produce content that highlights the diversity and allure of Ireland, with a focus on regions and seasonal tourism experiences. The projects should aim to inspire and educate viewers, offering a deeper understanding of the island’s unique landscapes, people, and culture. Concepts should reflect the following key elements:
Through a highly competitive selection process, eligible producers can apply for funding of up to €200,000, with the Fund covering no more than 50% of the global project budget. To be considered, projects must have a commitment from a broadcaster or distributor to air the programme in key markets such as the USA, Great Britain, and Mainland Europe.

In 2025, there will be two rounds of funding applications, in February and June. Additionally, “speed-pitching” events will be organized both virtually and in-person prior to each round, providing interested producers with the opportunity to pitch their developed TV concepts to Tourism Ireland’s panel of experts.
This is an exciting opportunity for producers looking to showcase the magic of Ireland on the global stage. Whether through dramatic landscapes, immersive cultural stories, or intimate connections with local communities, the 2025 Fund promises to continue celebrating Ireland’s unique place in the world of television.
