Tourism Malaysia Vietnam recently took part in the Batik Air Roadshow held in Hanoi and Danang, where they engaged with esteemed travel trade partners from the industry. Their objective was to actively allure Vietnamese tourists to visit Malaysia.

With the support of Batik Air, this event provided Tourism Malaysia with a valuable opportunity to showcase the unique identity of Malaysia. They also promoted enticing programs and exclusive offers tailored for Vietnamese travelers planning trips to Malaysia, ensuring exceptional travel experiences that align with travelers’ expectations.

Throughout the event, they highlighted some of Malaysia’s iconic tourist attractions, including the amusement theme park GL Play by Gamuda Lands, A’Famosa Resort Melaka, Sunway Lagoon, Sunway Lost World of Tambun, ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre, and Grand Ion Delemen Hotel in Genting Highlands.

Key attendees at the event included Mr. Suresh Vanan, Head of Marketing Communications & Promotions at Batik Air; Mr. Nguy?n Ð?c Khánh, General Director of Tay Ho Trading Travel Company, and a representative from Batik Air’s General Sales Agent in Vietnam.

In 2023, Tourism Malaysia aims to welcome over 300,000 Vietnamese tourists to Malaysia. As of September 2023, Malaysia had already recorded 272,852 Vietnamese arrivals, underscoring the strong demand from Vietnam, one of Malaysia’s top tourism markets, in the post-pandemic era.

Additionally, this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Vietnam. The strengthened ties have led to a significant increase in tourist numbers in recent years. With Batik Air’s services, tourists now have more travel options to select flights to Malaysia that suit their preferences.

Madam Nor Hayati Zainuddin, Director of Tourism Malaysia in Vietnam, expressed her hope that travel agents and tour operators participating in the roadshow would actively promote tour packages to customers in Vietnam, showcasing Malaysia as a safe, affordable, and preferred vacation destination.

Batik Air currently operates direct flights from Hanoi (HAN), Danang (DAD), and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL). The promotional fare for one-way Economy Class between Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur starts from USD69.00 (Business Class not available). This fare includes a free baggage allowance of 20 kg for Economy Class travelers, and the route is served by brand-new narrow-body Boeing 737-8 aircraft.

Malaysia aims to attract 16.1 million international tourists and generate RM49.2 billion in tourism receipts in 2023. Currently, there are 150 direct flights per week from Vietnam to Malaysia, and Tourism Malaysia anticipates substantial growth from the Vietnam market, as well as the Southeast Asia region.
