Travel SOS boosts fleet with new Yutong Midicoach

Travel SOS, a prominent transport service based in Birmingham, has recently enhanced its fleet with the acquisition of a Yutong TC9 midicoach, a move facilitated by Pelican Bus and Coach. This latest addition underscores the company’s commitment to providing superior transport solutions to its clientele.

The Yutong TC9, designed to accommodate 37 passengers, boasts a sophisticated interior with seats upholstered in a red-based half-leather scheme. To further enhance passenger comfort, the seating arrangement includes lateral displacement at the aisle positions, allowing for additional space and convenience during travel. Additionally, the coach is equipped with modern amenities such as USB and 240v charging points, ensuring passengers can stay connected and powered throughout their journey.

A notable feature of the TC9 is its PSVAR (Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations) ready standard, indicating the vehicle’s design facilitates easy conversion to full compliance with accessibility regulations in the future. This foresight in design underscores the commitment to inclusivity and the long-term utility of the coach.

Externally, the midicoach presents a sleek appearance with its silver finish and a cherished 24-plate registration mark, which it donned in preparation for service commencement on 1 March. The vehicle also features polished alloy wheels, adding to its aesthetic appeal.

The powertrain of the TC9 consists of a Cummins B6.7 engine, capable of generating 320bhp, paired with a ZF EcoLife gearbox, promising a smooth and efficient performance on the road.

The acquisition was overseen by Lee McMahon, Area Sales Manager at Pelican, whose support throughout the process has been acknowledged and appreciated by Travel SOS. This collaboration marks a significant enhancement in the service capability of Travel SOS, positioning them to better meet the needs of their passengers with a focus on comfort, accessibility, and efficiency.
