Travelodge, a UK hotel chain, has acquired an office building in St Paul’s, London, with plans to transform it into a new hotel location.
The 24,000-square-foot building, Genesis House, located on Godliman Street, will soon be home to a new Travelodge featuring 95 guest rooms and an 85-seat Bar Cafe.

This acquisition is part of Travelodge’s broader strategy to grow its hotel network. The Genesis House project is financed by the Travelodge OpCo Group without external funding, with conversion work scheduled to begin in early 2026.

Following planning approvals, the hotel is projected to welcome its first guests in early 2027.

Travelodge’s expansion plan includes over 300 prospective sites identified across the UK, driven by a market analysis revealing opportunities within the hotel sector.

Alongside new developments, Travelodge is exploring options to expand its current properties.

Founded in 1985, Travelodge has built an impressive portfolio, now encompassing over 600 hotels and more than 47,000 rooms across the UK, Ireland, and Spain.
The company also remains committed to upgrading its existing hotels, with plans to have 50% of its rooms refurbished to its latest design standards by year’s end.
