Festive celebrations will begin at Vakkaru Maldives on December 17 with a spectacular Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony combined with the resort’s anniversary celebration at Vakku Beach. As Christmas Eve arrives, guests can enjoy a day filled with marine adventures and festive moments. Later in the morning, Santa Claus will make a special appearance at Vakku Beach, adding excitement for families and younger visitors.

The theme will guide family activities at the Parrotfish Club, where younger guests can explore ancient cultures, global traditions and maritime discoveries through creative experiences.

Children will take part in Silk Road-inspired activities including map-making, batik workshops, world music sessions and ocean-themed adventures. The celebrations will reach a colourful highlight on New Year’s Eve with the Silk Route Fashion Parade, allowing young guests to showcase their creativity before the island welcomes the arrival of 2027.

The main attraction of the celebrations will be the New Year’s Eve Gala: The Silk Road Journey, hosted on Vakku Beach. The event will present an international dining experience inspired by the flavours, heritage and cultural exchanges of the historic trade routes.

Guests will enjoy a spectacular evening featuring global cuisine, live performances, music and traditional entertainment. As midnight approaches, fireworks will light up the skies above Baa Atoll, marking the beginning of 2027 with a celebration overlooking the Indian Ocean.

The first morning of the new year will begin with a special brunch at Amaany, allowing guests to continue the celebrations in a relaxed island setting. Certified divers will also have the opportunity to welcome 2027 beneath the waves with a first dive experience around Vakkaru’s surrounding waters.

Wellness Renewal Returns to Merana Spa During the Festive Season

The festive programme at Vakkaru Maldives will also include a special wellness experience with Japanese holistic practitioner Yoko Kawaguchi returning to Merana Spa for her second residency at the resort in 2026.
