August Bank Holiday Weekend is something many citizens in the United Kingdom look forward to. Major traffic warning issued over Bank Holiday travel as hotspots to avoid revealed. The people have been warned of potential traffic chaos over the Bank Holiday weekend as millions of cars take to the roads. There are several major events will be taking place up and down the United Kingdom over the next week.

These major festivals around the UK are renowned for their unique experience in music, fun, food and frolic, and more. So here are some of the best picks to enjoy over your August Bank Holiday 2022!

International Beatleweek
Over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Liverpool hosts a week-long celebration of the biggest band in the world. Worldwide Beatles tribute bands perform at the historic Cavern Club as part of the annual International Beatleweek. It is now the world’s most well-known location for live music.


Gone Wild Festival
Experience the fantastic outdoor activities, entertainment, and delicious food at the Gone Wild Festival with Bear Grylls! The festival features performances like The Script, All Saints, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor live in concert as well as talks by illustrious explorers like Ranulph Fiennes. An obstacle course, stand-up paddle boarding, and lessons in bushcraft are among the thrilling outdoor activities here. The Royal Marines Charity (RMA), which proudly supports current and retired Royal Marines and their families, benefits financially from the festival.


Lost Village
Held in a secluded woodland near the village of Norton Disney in Lincolnshire, Lost Village is a surreal festival experience where festival-goers explore an abandoned woodland. Dilapidated buildings, old junkyards, hidden gardens and a disused air base are part of the show highlight along with performance of artists such as Bonobo, Jamie XX, Tom Misch, Kojey Radical and many more. What’s more is a fine dining experience among the woods!


White Cliffs Walking Festival

One of the biggest walking events of the year in the UK, the festival is put on by the neighbourhood White Cliffs Ramblers club and is in its seventh year. Discover Kent’s historical gems in its cities and villages. There are a range of walks to choose from, from a leisurely rural stroll with a break for ice cream to an educational walk that covers the history and archaeology of Dover. Only 40 people per walk is admitted so booking for the festival is crucial.

Hereford River Carnival
The renowned carnival procession will draw throngs of spectators to the river to observe the river procession. Numerous new areas and activities are spread out around the site in addition to the well-known features including the fun fair, indie food village, craft workshops, traditional games, festival of sport, and music stages. Over the Easter and summer break, there are numerous opportunities to participate in free carnival classes and events. This eagerly awaited river Carnival has become Herefordshire’s largest community event, yet it is still completely free for the general public.

Wannasee Festival

Wannasee Festival covers a wide variety of entertainment, rides, and attractions at the Wannasee Festival in Penrith for people of all ages. Some of the younger children’s rides, entertainment, a fantastic life-size puppet show, and face painting are completely free, while the rest are offered at very affordable reduced prices. Returning in 2022, Wannasee features an impressive lineup of top-notch tributes to many of music’s most well-known artists, including ABBA, AC/DC, Coldplay, and Queen.

Telford Balloon Fiesta
For three days of free entertainment, the balloon fiesta returns to Telford Town Park and QE11 Arena. The festivities begin on Friday with a warm-up evening of live music. The iconic Night Glow returns on Saturday, along with additional live music and entertainment, while family-friendly activities like circus shows and crafts are available on Sunday. Over the course of the weekend, residents of Telford and other nearby areas will be able to view hot air balloons circling the county.

Manchester Pride
“Party as protest,” Manchester Pride Festival is a component of the world’s greatest LGBTQ+ liberation movement, which celebrates gay people, culture, and expression in a loud and visible manner in a refusal to remain silent out of shame. Manchester Pride is a boisterous and ecstatic celebration of LGBTQ+ individuals, culture, and expression. There will be several events, some of which are free and some of which require tickets.

The Classic at Silverstone
The Classic at Silverstone event is known for having the best lineup of exhilarating motorsport from the pre-war era to the present, three nights of incredible live music, delectable festival food, and a jam-packed schedule of entertainment. One of the main draws is a collection of vehicles from the most recent James Bond film, No Time To Die, as well as all seven of Lewis Hamilton’s Formula 1 cars from his world championship-winning team.

African and Caribbean Food Festival
Taste delectable, succulent, authentic Continental & Caribbean cuisines from around the world, as presented by some of the city’s best independent chefs and up-and-coming food sellers. This festival strives to revive and increase public knowledge of African and Caribbean cooking techniques, customs, and traditions that have been passed down from grandmothers’ kitchens to takeout and dining establishments through successive generations.
