For high-speed rail projects on the West Coast, the government of Biden is granting over $6 billion fresh funding, the White House declared this news today, i.e., Friday. For 10 passenger rail projects across the country, this grant is part of an $8.2 billion package scheme.

For Brightline, one high-speed grant has been allocated for up to $3 billion. Brightline has developed between Orlando and Miami as a new rail system between Las Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., located almost 37 miles east of Los Angeles. The high-speed rail route is expected to bring in trips of just more than two hours, as per the White House. Also, the project will allow for connections to the Los Angeles metro area through the Metrolink commuter rail system.

The second high-speed grant is for almost $3.1 billion for the California Inaugural High-Speed Rail Service Project in the Central Valley of the state. The money will be made use to plan and spread the rail line between Bakersfield and Merced, buy new high-speed trainsets and build up the Fresno station, as per the White House. The 171-mile rail corridor will help high-speed travel with speeds up to 220 miles per hour.
