American hotel developers are helping Ras Al Khaimah become one of the UAE’s top tourism destinations. Developers plan to build hotels featuring 6,365 rooms using American hotel management companies. Some of the developments include the Wynn resort on Marjan Island and other projects that increase investors’ confidence in Ras Al Khaimah’s future as a luxury tourism destination.

According to new figures, U.S. hotel operators will manage 6,365 of the Emirate’s total 12,811 planned and operational hotel keys, giving American brands the largest share among international hospitality groups active in Ras Al Khaimah.

The expansion strengthens a partnership between Ras Al Khaimah and leading U.S. luxury hospitality names that has developed over more than a decade. Premium brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria helped establish the Emirate’s reputation among high-end travellers, with Waldorf Astoria selecting Ras Al Khaimah for its first UAE property when it entered the Middle Eastern market. The Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah opened in 2013 and became a major milestone in the destination’s luxury tourism development.

U.S. Hospitality Brands Take Leading Position in Ras Al Khaimah’s Tourism Future

The growing influence of U.S.-operated hotel brands comes as Ras Al Khaimah continues to attract major international investment into its hospitality and lifestyle sectors. Fourteen global hotel brands are currently signed or operating across the Emirate’s key development areas, including Al Marjan Island, Marjan Beach and RAK Central.

These destinations are being developed as integrated lifestyle, tourism and business hubs designed to support the Emirate’s long-term growth plans. The increasing number of international operators reflects the confidence placed in Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism potential, infrastructure development and ability to attract visitors from global markets.

Among the most significant projects is Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE’s first integrated resort, which is scheduled to open in 2027. The project represents one of the largest U.S. foreign direct investment developments in the UAE.

Spread across more than 60 hectares, Wynn Al Marjan Island will feature 1,530 rooms, 22 restaurants, bars and lounges, 12 swimming pools and a 550-metre private beach. The resort is expected to become a major addition to Ras Al Khaimah’s luxury tourism offering and strengthen the Emirate’s position on the international hospitality map.

Other major developments include Janu Al Marjan Island, an Aman brand property, alongside established luxury hotels such as Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria.

Ras Al Khaimah Builds Long-Term Tourism Strategy Through Global Partnerships

The rapid growth of international hotel investment reflects Ras Al Khaimah’s broader strategy of creating a connected tourism ecosystem rather than developing isolated properties.

The Emirate’s master planning approach focuses on linking major destinations, including Al Marjan Island, Marjan Beach and RAK Central, to create a diverse environment combining leisure, business, residential and hospitality experiences.

The leadership of Marjan Group highlighted that international investors are attracted when they see a clear long-term vision supported by strong planning and development strategies. Ras Al Khaimah is positioning its hospitality sector for sustained growth over the next three decades by ensuring that new projects complement each other and contribute to a wider destination experience.

The development model aims to create conditions where international operators can establish successful properties and consider further expansion opportunities within the Emirate.

Global Confidence Strengthens Ras Al Khaimah’s Hospitality Outlook

The rising number of international hotel commitments comes as Ras Al Khaimah continues to receive positive recognition for its economic stability and investment environment.

Earlier this month, international credit ratings agency S&P Global maintained Ras Al Khaimah’s rating at “A/A-1” with a stable outlook, confirming the same rating level from the previous assessment cycle.

The Emirate welcomed 1.35 million overnight visitors in 2025 and has set an ambitious target of reaching 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030.

Its strategic location remains one of its key advantages. Ras Al Khaimah is located less than an hour by road from Dubai International Airport, while approximately one-third of the world’s population can reach the Emirate within four hours of flying time.

This connectivity, combined with expanding hotel capacity and international brand participation, is supporting Ras Al Khaimah’s transformation into a competitive global tourism destination.

Ras Al Khaimah Delegation Heads to U.S. to Expand Investment Partnerships

The latest hospitality figures were released as a Ras Al Khaimah delegation began a business visit to the United States from 20 September to 10 October.

The delegation is travelling to key cities including Miami, Detroit, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and New York to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new investment opportunities.

Meetings during the visit will involve government representatives, investors, tourism partners and business leaders. The objective is to highlight Ras Al Khaimah’s development opportunities and encourage further cooperation across tourism, hospitality, investment and economic sectors.

The delegation includes representatives from the Office of the Ruler’s International Relations Department, Marjan Group, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), Innovation City, Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge, RAK Properties and the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office.

Hospitality Growth Positions Ras Al Khaimah as a Rising Global Destination

The continued arrival of international hotel brands demonstrates the increasing global interest in Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism market. The Emirate’s combination of luxury developments, natural landscapes, business opportunities and strategic connectivity is helping it attract both travellers and international investors.

As new properties prepare to open through 2027 and beyond, Ras Al Khaimah is strengthening its position as a destination built around long-term hospitality growth.

Ras Al Khaimah is accelerating UAE tourism growth as U.S. hotel powerhouses lead a major hospitality expansion, with American brands set to operate nearly half of the Emirate’s hotel portfolio through landmark luxury developments.

Ras Al Khaimah is partnering with more U.S. hotel chains to build world-class resorts, further developing its tourism infrastructure. The Emirate aims to more than double its hotel rooms with upscale resorts to attract more guests each year. With strong international investments, the Emirate is on the right track to develop a world-class tourism and hospitality hub. This will propel UAE tourism beyond the limits of current projections.
