Vietnam Airlines Expands Munich-Asia Network with New Dreamliner Flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam Airlines is enhancing its Asian flight offerings from Munich Airport, now providing twice-weekly flights to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Passengers will travel aboard the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which features a three-class cabin layout with Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class options for added comfort.

Flights to Hanoi, Vietnam’s vibrant capital, depart every Monday and Saturday, while those to the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh City, often referred to as Saigon, are scheduled for Tuesdays. From December 2024, service frequency will increase, with flights to both cities available twice a week—on Tuesdays and Thursdays. With this addition, Munich joins the select list of European destinations served by Vietnam Airlines, which already includes Frankfurt, London Heathrow, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

“We are delighted about the new flights by Vietnam Airlines from Munich Airport. The connections are a significant expansion of our Asia services and strengthen Munich Airport’s position as one of the leading aviation hubs in Europe. We are confident that these new direct flights will further enhance economic ties and cultural exchange between Bavaria and Vietnam,” said Jost Lammers, CEO of  Munich Airport, on the occasion of the first flight.

Vietnam has become a top destination for travelers across Southeast Asia and now stands among the most visited nations in the Asia-Pacific region. Bavarian businesses have recognized this growth, making significant investments in Vietnam’s economy. Additionally, partnerships in science and education between Bavaria and Vietnam are flourishing, highlighting the deepening connections between the two regions.
