Qatar is expanding its summer tourism strategy through the Hala Summer campaign, a destination-wide initiative designed to attract international visitors and domestic travellers with family-focused experiences, hotel packages, entertainment events, dining offers and leisure activities across the country. Running from 1 May to 30 September 2026, the campaign connects accommodation, attractions, shopping destinations and cultural experiences to create a comprehensive summer travel programme in Qatar. The initiative is promoted by Visit Qatar, the official tourism platform of Qatar, as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s position as a year-round travel destination.

The campaign focuses heavily on family tourism by introducing benefits such as Kids Go Free and Kids Play Free offers at participating hotels, restaurants, attractions and entertainment venues. With more than 100 hotels and resorts involved, visitors can access a range of seasonal packages combining accommodation with additional experiences across Doha and other major tourism areas in Qatar.

Qatar Uses Hala Summer to Expand Family Tourism Experiences

Hala Summer has been structured around creating greater value for visitors during the summer season by combining hotel stays with leisure activities. Participating properties provide selected benefits for children under 12, including complimentary accommodation options, meals and access to certain entertainment experiences depending on individual package conditions.

The campaign also introduces additional rewards through the Visit Qatar Wallet, a digital platform that allows eligible visitors staying at participating hotels to access available benefits. After completing hotel check-in and registration, travellers can use the wallet to redeem selected offers from participating attractions, restaurants, tours and entertainment providers.

The digital system supports Qatar’s wider tourism approach by making visitor experiences more connected and convenient. Through the wallet programme, travellers can discover multiple activities across Doha while receiving additional benefits linked to their accommodation packages.

Doha Becomes Centre of Summer Events and Entertainment

As part of Hala Summer, Doha hosts a wide range of entertainment activities aimed at families, leisure travellers and visitors seeking indoor and outdoor experiences. The programme includes major events such as the Qatar Toy Festival, Minecraft World, Colorverse, Fontana Circus and Sneaker Con, alongside concerts and seasonal entertainment activities.

The Qatar Toy Festival remains one of the major attractions within the campaign calendar. Scheduled at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from 1 to 31 July 2026, the festival features interactive zones, toy displays, workshops, live performances, themed areas and family entertainment activities.

The event adds another attraction to Qatar’s growing portfolio of large-scale family experiences, supporting the country’s goal of attracting visitors beyond traditional sightseeing and business travel segments.

Qatar Promotes Hotels, Attractions and Shopping Destinations

The Hala Summer programme connects hotels with major shopping and entertainment destinations throughout Doha. Participating malls and leisure areas host seasonal activities, performances, competitions and family entertainment programmes between July and September.

Major destinations involved in the summer activations include Mall of Qatar, Doha Festival City, Place Vendôme, Villaggio Mall, City Center Doha, Landmark Mall, Doha Mall, Hyatt Plaza, Al Hazm, Gewan Island and West Walk.

Several hotels are also offering themed family experiences linked with popular entertainment concepts. These include specially designed stays featuring themes such as Transformers, The Smurfs, CoComelon and Hello Kitty and Friends. These packages are aimed at increasing family engagement while encouraging longer stays in Qatar during the summer period.

The campaign also supports Qatar’s retail tourism sector through shopping promotions and seasonal activities. Visitors participating in selected shopping campaigns can access prize opportunities through purchases made at participating destinations.

Waterparks and Leisure Attractions Support Qatar Summer Travel

Qatar continues to expand its leisure tourism infrastructure by promoting waterparks and adventure attractions as key summer experiences. Hala Summer highlights destinations including Meryal Waterpark on Qetaifan Island North and Desert Falls Water and Adventure Park at Hilton Salwa Beach Resort.

Desert Falls features a wide selection of water rides and adventure activities, including attractions suitable for families and visitors seeking active leisure experiences. The facility includes water-based entertainment alongside activities such as go-karting, laser tag and adventure-based attractions.

Meryal Waterpark also strengthens Qatar’s position as a regional leisure destination by offering large-scale aquatic entertainment facilities designed for families, groups and international visitors.

Alongside these attractions, Qatar promotes evening-friendly outdoor destinations with cooling features and comfortable visitor environments. Areas such as West Walk, Gewan Island, Place Vendôme, Al Maha Island, Lusail Boulevard and Galeries Lafayette provide additional leisure options during the warmer months.

Hala Summer Supports Qatar’s Long-Term Tourism Growth Strategy

The Hala Summer campaign forms part of Qatar’s broader tourism development plans aimed at increasing visitor arrivals, extending stays and diversifying tourism products. By combining accommodation offers, entertainment events, shopping experiences and family activities, the initiative creates a structured summer travel programme for different visitor segments.

The campaign also reflects Qatar’s continued investment in tourism infrastructure following major global events that increased international awareness of the destination. Through expanded attractions, improved visitor services and seasonal programmes, Qatar continues to develop a stronger position within the Middle East tourism market.

With Doha serving as the central hub for entertainment, hospitality and cultural experiences, Hala Summer provides a platform for visitors to explore Qatar through a combination of family activities, leisure attractions and hospitality offerings throughout the summer season.
