Spain Tourism Hits Record 58.1 Million Visitors In 2026

Spain welcomed a record 58.1 million international tourists during the first seven months of 2026, representing a 4.6% increase compared with the same period in 2025, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE). The country achieved a new monthly milestone in July 2026, attracting 11.5 million foreign visitors, the highest July figure recorded and up 4.6% year-on-year. The United Kingdom remained the leading source market with around 2.2 million visitors, followed by France with 1.6 million arrivals, while Germany continued as another major contributor to Spain’s strong international tourism growth.

Spain’s $2.09 Trillion Economy Expands

Spain’s economy is forecast to remain one of the strongest performers in the euro area in 2026, with its nominal GDP expected to reach around $2.09 trillion and real economic growth projected at 2.1% to 2.2%. The country’s GDP per capita is estimated at approximately $41,563, reflecting continued economic expansion. Spain’s growth rate is expected to be significantly higher than the broader euro area average of around 0.7% to 0.8%, positioning it among the fastest-growing major economies in the region. The strong performance is supported by continued activity across key sectors, including tourism, services, investment, and domestic consumption.
