‘Youth Tourism Summit’ held by the UNWTO

The first global ‘Youth Tourism Summit’ is being held by the UNWTO in association with the Tourism Ministry and the National Tourism Agency (ENIT). The event is expected to bring together the global youth aged between 12 and 18 along with leaders from across the tourism sector, as well as politicians and important personalities from the area of sport, entertainment, cooking and modernization. The summit has bagged the award of the President of the Republic of Italy and support of the department of youth policies along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.


Zurab Pololikashvili, the UNWTO Secretary-General said that the Global Youth Tourism will commemorate and authorize the next generation of tourism experts. The event will help build an enduring heritage by imparting skills and knowledge to the young people which they need to change tourism not only in their communities but far and wide.


The summit is slated to take place from 27 June to 3 July. It will feature six Master classes, together with two talks in the evening, in addition to a recreation of the UNWTO General Assembly and interactive meetings. Here, participants can connect straight with the UN and the Ministers of Tourism besides high level executives from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Germany, Croatia, Albania, Georgia and Kazakhstan among UNWTO affiliate states.


The summit will also address a unique session with a focus on online security.
