On Tuesday, Israel Tourism Minister, Yoel Razvozov, explained that he was “really concerned” about a continuing disagreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates over security arrangements at Dubai International Airport.
The disagreement concern the refusal of Emirati authorities to allow the presence of Israeli security personnel from the Shin Bet Security Service on Dubai soil, potentially containing burgeoning bilateral tourism advertise as one of the most profitable fruits of the 2020 normalization accord between them.
After speaking to public broadcaster, Kan Razvozov, explained that the cut-off date for finding a solution was February 28, as agreed on by all parties. “So far,” he noted, “we’ve been getting further away from reaching an agreement.”
Some Israeli officials have tried to misrepresent the importance of the disagreement but Razvozov showed a rising anxiety over its future implications if not resolved by Feb 2022.
