Poland aviation is excited to announce that LOT Polish Airlines is the Best Airline in Central Europe, according to Skytrax World Airline Awards in London. Established more than 25 years ago, the Skytrax World Airline Awards are among the most recognised global airline industry accolades, providing insights into passenger perceptions and experiences across airlines worldwide. The 2026 survey gathered feedback from travellers across more than 100 nationalities, with the research conducted between September 2025 and August 2026. The final rankings were determined using 24.8 million verified survey entries covering more than 300 airlines worldwide.

In addition to securing the Best Airline in Central Europe title at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines continues to maintain a four-star Skytrax World Airline Rating, which it received in 2025 for the strength of its product quality and passenger services.

While the World Airline Awards are based on direct feedback from passengers worldwide, the Skytrax World Airline Rating follows a different evaluation process. It is determined through expert assessments of airline products, service standards, and the overall passenger journey. The rating system is recognised as one of the industry’s leading benchmarks for measuring airline quality, with detailed analysis covering multiple aspects of the travel experience.

LOT Polish Airlines Lounges in Warsaw and Chicago Receive Four-Star Recognition

Three premium lounges operated by LOT Polish Airlines have also achieved four-star recognition under the Skytrax evaluation. These include the LOT Business Lounge Polonez and LOT Business Lounge Mazurek at Warsaw Chopin Airport, along with the LOT Business Lounge Chicago at O’Hare International Airport.

The recognition highlights the airline’s investment in premium passenger services and complements LOT’s own four-star airline rating. It demonstrates that the carrier’s focus on delivering a high-quality travel experience extends beyond onboard services to include the airport journey before departure.

Skytrax auditors praised the lounges for their well-designed interiors, high-quality materials, food and beverage services, and strong connection with LOT’s brand identity. The spaces combine practical functionality with design elements that reflect Polish heritage, creating a consistent experience for passengers in both Europe and North America.

The LOT Business Lounge Chicago was recognised as an important representation of the airline’s brand in the North American market, effectively showcasing Polish culture and identity. The lounge’s panoramic views overlooking the airport apron were also highlighted as a notable feature.

At Warsaw Chopin Airport, auditors appreciated the renovated Polonez Lounge in the Schengen zone and Mazurek Lounge in the non-Schengen zone for their convenient locations near departure gates, strong visibility, and distinctive branding. The Mazurek Lounge also received praise for its impressive apron views, offering passengers an engaging airport experience before their journey.

Among the most distinctive elements recognised by Skytrax was the spa area inside the Polonez Lounge. The facility was noted as one of Europe’s most unique airport spa offerings, with auditors highlighting its premium design, range of treatments, professional staff expertise, and partnership with a Polish cosmetics brand.
