The Lowline Hotel in Charleston Set for Major July 2026 Debut on King Street Corridor as Avion Hospitality Confirms Senior Leadership Appointments to Drive Luxury Lifestyle Positioning

Avion Hospitality has confirmed key leadership appointments for its upcoming lifestyle property, The Lowline Hotel, naming Satish More as Managing Director and Patrick Dempsey as Director of Food & Beverage. The hotel is scheduled to open in July 2026 along Charleston’s prominent King Street corridor, positioning itself as a major addition to the city’s hospitality landscape.
The Lowline Hotel represents a complete transformation of the former Hyatt Place Charleston Historic District, led by Highline Hospitality. The property will be introduced as part of the JdV by Hyatt collection, marking one of the first entries of this independent lifestyle brand in the southeastern United States. The concept is built around the “joie de vivre” philosophy, with a strong emphasis on neighbourhood identity, cultural expression, and locally inspired design, aiming to reflect the creative energy of Charleston’s historic core.
In his role as Managing Director, Satish More will be responsible for overall hotel operations, strategic direction, and performance delivery. He brings over twenty years of experience across both branded and independent hospitality segments, having led diverse portfolios of hotels and restaurant concepts. Prior to this appointment, he served as Area General Manager with HHM Hotels in Washington, D.C., where he managed boutique properties and food and beverage operations. His background spans operational optimisation, team leadership, and guest experience enhancement, positioning him to steer the hotel through its pre-opening phase and beyond.
Patrick Dempsey joins as Director of Food & Beverage, where he will oversee the creation and execution of the hotel’s culinary and beverage strategy. His remit includes developing distinctive dining concepts designed to serve both hotel guests and the local community. Dempsey brings extensive experience from luxury and lifestyle hospitality environments, having led restaurant, bar, banquet, and large-scale culinary operations. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Food, Beverage, and Culinary at the Grand Bohemian Charleston, where he managed multiple outlets, improved guest satisfaction metrics, and introduced new programming initiatives. Known for his structured leadership style and focus on team development, he is expected to play a central role in shaping the hotel’s dining identity and operational standards.

“Satish and Patrick each bring a depth of experience and leadership that will be instrumental as we bring The Lowline Hotel to life,” said Robert Burg, CEO and President of Avion Hospitality. “Together with Highline Hospitality Partners, we are focused on delivering a property that reflects the energy of King Street while setting a new standard for lifestyle hospitality in Charleston.”
The Lowline Hotel is set to become a significant addition to Charleston’s hospitality landscape, strategically positioned along the city’s primary retail and accommodation corridor on the peninsula. Its location places it within immediate reach of King Street, widely regarded as the cultural and commercial heartbeat of Charleston, while also aligning with the emerging Lowcountry Lowline project, which is expected to reshape urban connectivity and public space in the area. This dual advantage positions the hotel at the intersection of heritage charm and future-focused urban development.

Designed as a contemporary lifestyle property, The Lowline Hotel will feature 197 guest rooms and suites. Each accommodation is expected to be thoughtfully planned, combining comfort, functional layout, and modern interior aesthetics. The design approach focuses on creating a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, catering to both business travellers and leisure visitors seeking an immersive Charleston experience. The rooms are intended to reflect a balance of understated luxury and practical convenience, ensuring a consistent guest experience across categories.
The hotel will also introduce a diverse set of amenities aimed at enhancing both social interaction and guest comfort. A signature restaurant with an integrated indoor-outdoor bar concept will serve as a central dining and social venue, offering flexible spaces for both casual gatherings and more curated dining experiences. A private dining room will cater to exclusive events, intimate celebrations, and business meetings, adding a layer of privacy and sophistication. Complementing these offerings, a vibrant coffee shop will provide an informal meeting point for guests and locals alike, contributing to the hotel’s community-oriented atmosphere. An indoor swimming pool further strengthens its leisure appeal, offering a year-round wellness and relaxation facility regardless of seasonal conditions.
In addition, The Lowline Hotel will include nearly 8,000 square feet of adaptable event and meeting space. These facilities are designed to accommodate a wide range of functions, from corporate conferences and brand activations to weddings and private receptions. The flexibility of these spaces ensures the hotel can serve as a multifunctional venue within Charleston’s growing events and tourism sector.
Architecturally and conceptually, the hotel draws inspiration from Charleston’s rich historical identity while integrating a modern hospitality philosophy. This blend is reflected in its design language, operational concept, and guest experience strategy. The Lowline Hotel is ultimately positioned not only as a place of stay but also as a dynamic community anchor, contributing to the city’s evolving urban narrative while reinforcing its reputation as a premier travel destination in the United States.
