Between Friday 29 March and Sunday 14 April, Brussels Airport anticipates over 1.1 million passengers departing from or arriving at its terminals, marking a slight increase of about 25,000 passengers compared to last year’s Easter holidays. Notably, only students in Flemish schools enjoy this break, as those in French-speaking institutions must wait until May for their two-week respite.
During this festive season, travelers at Brussels Airport can select from 160 direct destinations. Popular choices include sunny locales like Spain, the Canary Islands, Portugal, the Cape Verde islands, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Greece, and Turkey, along with city escapes within Europe. For intercontinental journeys, favored destinations include the United States, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates.
The airport will be adorned with spring and Easter themes, featuring floral displays and captivating selfie walls. Visitors can engage in digital postcard creation using QR code-equipped post boxes or opt for traditional postcards available at a terminal stand. Additionally, Easter-themed activities such as Easter egg distributions by bunny mascots and visits to the Belgian Chocolate House enhance the holiday experience.
To enhance the travel experience, passengers are encouraged to utilize flight notifications via the BRUce chatbot for real-time updates on security wait times, check-in desk assignments, and gate information. Pre-booking parking online is recommended for those arriving by car, with 700 new charging points for electric vehicles now available in the parking facilities. Public transport remains a convenient option for reaching the airport, while reviewing hand luggage regulations beforehand ensures a seamless security screening process.
