Grand Metropolitan Hotels, a globally recognised hospitality management group, has significantly reinforced its senior leadership structure as it continues to scale its international footprint, expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio, and deepen its ongoing digital transformation agenda. The strategic appointments arrive at a pivotal moment for the company, which has now exceeded 600 hotels worldwide and is actively accelerating growth across key global markets.
Rahul Arora has been appointed as Chief Commercial & Digital Officer (CCDO) and will also join the Management Board, where he will be responsible for steering the group’s global commercial performance and digital evolution. His mandate includes strengthening direct revenue streams, modernising distribution systems, and driving deeper guest engagement through technology-led innovation across the expanding hotel portfolio.
Alongside this appointment, Jacques Oudinot has been named Chief Executive Officer of Martinez Hotels, a flagship luxury brand within the Grand Metropolitan Hotels portfolio. His leadership is expected to play a central role in elevating the brand’s global positioning and reinforcing its presence in the competitive international luxury hospitality sector.
Arora brings a strong blend of hospitality technology expertise and commercial leadership experience. He is the founder of Digital Hotelier, a London-based company specialising in hospitality technology, digital strategy, and performance optimisation solutions. Over his career, he has built a reputation for driving large-scale digital transformation projects, particularly in areas such as hotel distribution systems, direct booking ecosystems, and data-driven marketing performance.

His previous leadership experience also includes a senior role at Signature Hotel Group, where he contributed to operational scaling, commercial restructuring, and revenue optimisation strategies across multiple properties. This cross-functional background positions him to integrate commercial strategy with advanced digital infrastructure across Grand Metropolitan Hotels’ global network.
In his new capacity as CCDO, Arora will oversee a broad portfolio of functions including sales, marketing, revenue management, distribution, customer engagement, technology systems, and digital transformation initiatives. A key priority will be to accelerate direct booking growth while reducing reliance on third-party intermediaries, thereby improving margin efficiency and strengthening brand-customer relationships.
He is also expected to lead the rollout of next-generation hospitality technology platforms designed to unify guest experience touchpoints, enhance personalisation, and improve operational intelligence across the group’s properties. This reflects the company’s wider strategic direction of aligning luxury hospitality standards with advanced digital capability, ensuring competitiveness in an increasingly tech-driven global travel ecosystem.
Jacques Oudinot, who assumes leadership of Martinez Hotels, brings more than twenty years of experience in high-end luxury hospitality management. His career includes senior executive positions at some of the world’s most prestigious hotel properties, including Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, Rosewood Abu Dhabi, Shangri-La Sydney, Four Seasons Singapore, Island Shangri-La Hong Kong, and One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai.
Most recently, Oudinot successfully established Voile D’Or Hotels as Chief Executive Officer, where he played a key role in shaping the brand’s identity and strengthening its positioning within the luxury hospitality segment. His track record reflects deep operational expertise combined with a strong understanding of global luxury brand development.
In his new role at Martinez Hotels, Oudinot will focus on refining the brand’s international identity, enhancing guest experience standards, and driving strategic expansion into key luxury travel markets. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the brand’s competitive positioning within the high-end hospitality sector, particularly as demand for premium travel experiences continues to rise globally.
Together, these leadership changes mark a decisive phase in Grand Metropolitan Hotels’ long-term strategy, combining commercial expansion, technological innovation, and luxury brand refinement to support its continued global growth trajectory.
“As Grand Metropolitan Hotels continues its international expansion, these appointments strengthen two areas that are central to our future growth: commercial innovation and luxury hospitality leadership,” said Martin Smura, Founder and Chairman of Grand Metropolitan Hotels.
“Rahul’s unique combination of commercial expertise, entrepreneurial vision and digital innovation makes him exceptionally well positioned to lead a critical function, and his appointment reflects our commitment to combining commercial excellence with technological innovation.
“Jacques is a highly respected leader within the industry, with extensive global experience, operational excellence and a deep understanding of luxury hospitality. His strategic mindset, vision and expertise are instrumental for the next phase of Martinez Hotels.”
Speaking of his new appointment, Rahul Arora said: “Technology is no longer a standalone function within hospitality; it is fundamental to how hotels drive revenue, engage guests and compete in an increasingly dynamic market. Grand Metropolitan Hotels has ambitious growth plans, and together we have an opportunity to strengthen the commercial and digital capabilities that will support the group’s next phase of expansion.”
