Hyderabad Prepares For Massive Ganesh Visarjan Crowd With Extra Overnight Railway Services

Due to the anticipated influx of thousands of pilgrims for the Ganesh Visarjan celebrations in Hyderabad, special overnight railway services have been announced. Many pilgrims use these special trains to travel back after witnessing the celebrations. Special MMTS trains will help transport pilgrims from different immersion points to railways and bus stations. These trains will help reduce the road congestion and offer a safer means of transport to pilgrims.

Hyderabad is preparing for the final and most significant phase of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, with special MMTS train services being introduced to handle the expected movement of thousands of devotees after the grand immersion procession. The additional railway services will operate during the peak immersion nights, offering passengers a dependable option to return home while avoiding heavy traffic congestion across the city.

The closing celebrations of Vinayaka Chavithi Navratri are expected to bring large crowds to prominent locations, particularly around the Khairatabad Ganapati immersion procession and Tank Bund area. As roads are likely to experience increased vehicle movement, diversions and restrictions, the special suburban train services will help ease travel challenges for devotees.

Hyderabad Extends Night Rail Connectivity During Ganesh Immersion Events

To support the increased travel demand, special MMTS trains will operate on the nights of September 25-26 and September 26-27. The services will run between 11 pm and 5 am, covering important routes used by passengers travelling across Hyderabad.

The additional operations have been arranged to provide late-night connectivity when thousands of people are expected to leave immersion venues at the same time. The move will help reduce dependence on road transport and provide devotees with a safer travel option after the celebrations.

The special trains will run across existing MMTS corridors and will halt at all stations on their respective routes. This will allow passengers from different neighbourhoods, suburban areas and city outskirts to access convenient transport during the festival rush.

Multiple MMTS Routes Added To Handle Increased Passenger Demand

The extended services will connect major parts of Hyderabad through multiple routes during the immersion period.

The first special train from Secunderabad to Hyderabad will leave at 11:50 pm and reach Hyderabad at 12:20 am. Another service from Hyderabad to Lingampalli will depart at 12:30 am and arrive at 1:20 am.

A return train from Lingampalli to Hyderabad will begin its journey at 1:50 am, reaching the destination at 2:40 am. The final service connecting Hyderabad and Secunderabad will leave at 3:30 am and arrive at 4 am.

Additional connectivity will be provided through another set of overnight trains. The Hyderabad to Lingampalli service will depart at 11:10 pm and reach Lingampalli at 11:55 pm.

The train from Lingampalli to Falaknuma will start at 12:10 am and arrive at 1:50 am. The Falaknuma to Secunderabad service will leave at 2:20 am and reach Secunderabad at 3 am.

The final special MMTS train between Secunderabad and Hyderabad will operate at 4 am, arriving at Hyderabad at 4:40 am.
