Jamaica Takes Caribbean Tourism to New Heights With Fifth Place Ranking and Luxury Resort Honours

Jamaica has claimed fifth place among the Caribbean and Atlantic’s most popular islands in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. Several Leading Luxury Hotels Resorts have scored on Jamaica’s rising appeal as a prime global destination, which contributes to the island’s growing reputation for exceptional hospitality and excellence as a premier Caribbean tourism destination.

The latest achievement marks another important milestone for Jamaica’s tourism industry. After securing a place among the top 10 islands in 2025, the destination has climbed to fifth position in 2026. This improvement reflects its strong appeal among travellers seeking beautiful beaches, authentic cultural experiences, warm hospitality and memorable Caribbean holidays.

Jamaica’s hospitality sector also delivered impressive results across several award categories. S Hotel Montego Bay secured second place among the Top 10 Hotels in the Caribbean and Central America, making it the highest-ranked Caribbean property in that category. Meanwhile, Jamaica Inn earned eighth place, further strengthening the island’s position as a leading destination for exceptional accommodation.

Several renowned Jamaican resorts also featured prominently in the Best Resorts in the Caribbean Islands rankings. Half Moon claimed 13th position, followed by GoldenEye in 17th place, Round Hill Hotel and Villas in 21st place and Sandals South Coast in 22nd place.

These achievements underline Jamaica’s growing international recognition and the strength of its luxury hospitality sector. With its combination of scenic coastal landscapes, distinctive cultural heritage, world-class resorts and diverse visitor experiences, the island continues to reinforce its position as a major destination in Caribbean tourism.

The 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards attracted more than 798,800 survey responses from readers across the United States, who shared their opinions and experiences of destinations, hotels, resorts and other travel offerings worldwide. Their feedback provides valuable insight into the places and experiences that leave lasting impressions and inspire travellers to return. As one of the travel industry’s longest-established reader-voted award programmes, the Readers’ Choice Awards continue to serve as a prestigious benchmark for quality, exceptional hospitality and excellence in global tourism.
