Bengaluru’s much-loved urban dining destination Monkey Bar is bringing back its popular chef-driven collaboration series, Flavour Riot, with a special celebration of the rich and vibrant traditions of Sindhi cuisine. The latest edition will feature an exclusive one-day brunch experience created in collaboration with Kusum Rohra, founder of the Sindhi supper club Khado Katcheri.

Scheduled for Sunday, 27 September 2026, from 12 noon onwards, the Sindhi Brunch will take place at Monkey Bar, Museum Road, Bengaluru, offering guests an opportunity to explore the authentic flavours of Sindhi home-style cooking. The specially curated menu will showcase comforting recipes, nostalgic flavours and distinctive spice blends that reflect the heritage and culinary memories of Sindhi households.

Designed around tradition, storytelling and bold flavours, the collaboration aims to bring the warmth of Sindhi kitchens to Bengaluru’s food lovers through a carefully crafted brunch experience that celebrates the community’s unique culinary identity.

Flavour Riot is Monkey Bar’s chef-led series that champions culinary voices rooted in identity, technique and flavour. Each edition opens the kitchen to distinct regional and micro-cuisine stories, giving them a focused, ingredient-driven menu and a stage that’s rarely available to them otherwise. “Flavour Riot is designed to create relevance, not novelty. Sindhi food has so much depth, but it rarely travels beyond home kitchens, working with Kusum and Khado Katcheri lets us put it in front of a much wider audience, and continue building Monkey Bar as a space in Bengaluru where regional and micro-cuisine stories can find room to grow,” says Nikhil Chittiappa, Partner at Monkey Bar, Bangalore.

For the latest edition of Flavour Riot, Monkey Bar is bringing the rich culinary heritage of Sindhi cuisine to Bengaluru through a special collaboration with Khado Katcheri, the Sindhi supper club founded by Kusum Rohra. Inspired by the traditional Sindhi concept of the “khado” — a warm, shared home kitchen where food brings families and communities together — the collaboration aims to introduce a new audience to the authentic flavours, stories and techniques behind Sindhi cooking.

Instead of transforming the cuisine to fit modern restaurant trends, Khado Katcheri focuses on preserving the essence of traditional Sindhi home food. The supper club highlights recipes that are deeply rooted in family kitchens but are often missing from mainstream restaurant menus. Through Flavour Riot, Monkey Bar continues its mission of creating a space where regional and lesser-known cuisines can reach a wider audience while maintaining their original identity, cultural significance and traditional preparation methods.

“Sindhi cuisine carries the feeling of home, memories of family gatherings and the comfort of meals shared around a full table. Bringing this experience to Monkey Bar allows me to introduce these flavours and emotions to guests who may be discovering Sindhi food for the first time,” says Kusum Rohra, founder of Khado Katcheri.

The specially curated Flavour Riot Sindhi Brunch menu celebrates the nostalgia, warmth and simplicity that define Sindhi home cooking. The experience begins with a selection of traditional small plates featuring iconic dishes that showcase the depth and diversity of the cuisine.

Guests can enjoy Basar ji Koki, a fragrant and flavourful flatbread enriched with spices and ghee, traditionally enjoyed as a wholesome breakfast dish. The menu also features Dal Pakwaan, a beloved Sindhi combination of crisp fried flatbread paired with lightly spiced chana dal, offering a balance of texture and comforting flavours. Another highlight is Kachalu Touk, a crispy and spicy fried colocasia preparation known for its addictive taste. The starters also include Brain in Keema, a slow-cooked minced mutton dish blended with aromatic spices and rich brain masala.

The main course continues the celebration of Sindhi culinary traditions through dishes prepared with patience and layered flavours. The classic Sindhi Kadhi brings together tangy gram flour curry and vegetables, served alongside steamed rice, kachalu touk and sweet boondi to create a complete traditional meal experience. Another standout dish is Teevan, a deeply flavoured Sindhi-style mutton curry cooked slowly until the spices develop a rich and intense taste. It is served with soft Mumbai-style laadi pav, chopped onions and fresh lemon to complete the experience.

The Sindhi Brunch edition of Flavour Riot reflects Monkey Bar’s continued focus on discovering and celebrating regional food cultures. By partnering with Khado Katcheri, the initiative creates an opportunity for Bengaluru diners to experience a cuisine that carries generations of history, family traditions and cultural memories.

Both Monkey Bar and Khado Katcheri share a commitment to giving regional and micro-cuisines the recognition they deserve. The collaboration celebrates not only the flavours of Sindhi food but also the stories, techniques and traditions that make every dish meaningful.
