Foxwoods Resort Casino celebrates 8 years of innovative partnership with Provista, revolutionizing procurement in hospitality industry and gaming industry.

Today marks the celebration of an exceptional 8-year partnership between Foxwoods Resort Casino, the largest premier casino resort in the Northeast, and Provista, a leading group purchasing organization renowned for its innovative and cost-effective solutions. This significant milestone highlights an ongoing collaboration that has reshaped procurement processes within the hospitality industry and gaming industries.

Since the inception of the Provista Hospitality Program in 2015, with Foxwoods as its inaugural member, the resort casino has realized substantial cost savings, exceeding 12% across supply chain expenses. The partnership with Provista has led to a reduction in truck deliveries, the streamlining of invoices, and a revolutionary increase in operational efficiency, resulting in multimillion-dollar savings for Foxwoods.

Chief Procurement Officer at Foxwoods Resort Casino, Philip Minichino, reflected on their initial engagement with Provista, stating, “When we approached Provista years ago, we were seeking a way to optimize our procurement processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency. The collaboration resulted in the creation of the Provista Hospitality Program, which has allowed us to reduce the number of distributors and suppliers without congesting our docks. Provista not only saved us dollars and effort but also emerged as a true partner, enabling us to focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.”

As a founding member of the Provista Hospitality Program, Foxwoods played a pivotal role in shaping the program, extending its benefits to over 100,000 members across diverse travel industries such as hotels, resorts, casinos, museums, entertainment and expo centers, effectively addressing varied procurement needs.

Eddie Allen, the Vice President of Food & Beverage at Foxwoods Resort Casino, underscored the transformation of their partnership, expressing, “Our enduring alliance has progressed into a dynamic collaboration, reshaping the procurement landscape, with a diverse portfolio of over 60,000 high-quality culinary and culinary-related items in our gastronomic hospitality arsenal.”

Expressing gratitude for the enduring relationship with Foxwoods and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, David Richard, Associate Principal, Culinary Strategy and Solutions at Provista, credited the success of the program to key individuals like Jason Guyot, President & CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino, Phil Minichino, and Eddie Allen, who played instrumental roles in bringing the program to life.

Foxwoods is pleased to announce the extension of Provista’s services, not only within their own operations but also across the broader operations of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. This strategic move underscores Foxwoods’ commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and fostering continued growth across various operational facets.
