Garuda Indonesia is providing 170,845 complimentary domestic roundtrip tickets to international travelers for visits to Indonesia. This promo encourages people traveling outside of Indonesia to visit beyond large transportation hubs, such as Jakarta, and to experience the other more remote destinations of Indonesia.
Under the Free Domestic Flight programme, eligible passengers holding roundtrip international tickets to Indonesia can add a domestic return journey at no additional fare. The offer applies to travellers departing from 14 international origin cities across 10 countries and is valid for travel between 1 August and 30 November 2026.
The campaign, launched with the message #DiscoverMoreIndonesia, aims to strengthen multi-destination travel by linking Garuda Indonesia’s global network with its extensive domestic routes. Through this initiative, international visitors can discover more of Indonesia’s islands, cultural attractions and regional experiences while helping encourage tourism growth beyond popular gateways such as Jakarta and Bali.
The programme is also expected to benefit Indonesian citizens returning from overseas, including members of the diaspora and migrant workers, by making it easier for them to continue their journeys to their hometowns or other parts of the country after arriving internationally.

Garuda Indonesia highlighted that the initiative reflects the airline’s commitment to improving travel accessibility and promoting wider tourism distribution across Indonesia. By combining its international connections with domestic flight coverage, the national carrier aims to create more seamless travel opportunities for both international visitors and Indonesians travelling home.
“Indonesia offers far more than a single destination. By making onward domestic travel easier, we want international travellers to stay longer, explore more regions and experience more of what Indonesia has to offer,” Prina said.
She added that the integration of international and domestic connectivity provides Garuda Indonesia with a differentiated proposition as regional destinations compete for international visitor traffic.
“The proposition is simple: come to Indonesia, then discover more of Indonesia. Our network allows us to make that journey increasingly seamless and valuable for travellers,” she said.

Garuda Indonesia Southeast Asia Branch Manager and Head of the Free Domestic Flight Project Management Office Agny Gallus Pratama said the allocation of more than 170,000 seats was designed to increase the potential economic value generated by each international arrival.
“The opportunity is not only to bring more travellers into Indonesia, but to enable each arrival to reach more destinations,” Gallus said. “When visitors travel further and stay longer, the economic impact can extend to hotels, restaurants, local transportation, tourism operators and MSMEs across the regions.”
By connecting international traffic more directly with its domestic network, Garuda Indonesia expects the program to help disperse visitor flows and tourism spending more widely across Indonesia.
The initiative also supports the airline’s competitiveness in international markets by leveraging the breadth of its domestic network to offer travellers easier access to multiple destinations within a single Indonesia itinerary.
Through this international-to-domestic connectivity, Garuda Indonesia aims to create greater value from each international arrival while enabling more destinations and local tourism ecosystems to benefit from the movement of international travellers.
