AEGEAN hosts ‘Thiseas and Minotauros’ for Crete’s elementary schools

The halls of Heraklion’s Cultural Conference Center reverberated with the infectious joy of elementary school children from across Crete as they gathered to witness Carmen Ruggeri’s performance of “Theseas & Minotauros,” graciously presented by AEGEAN. This marked the second consecutive year that the company extended its generous invitation to students from every corner of the island, granting them the opportunity, through a lottery system, to experience the show free of charge.

Over 2,000 enthusiastic children representing 120 elementary schools enthusiastically responded to AEGEAN’s call, with 650 fortunate students ultimately attending. Notably, to ensure inclusivity, transportation was arranged from distant regions like Chania, Rethymno, and Lasithi, allowing students from various parts of the island to participate.

Prior to the performance, the children engaged in discussions with the performers, fostering an interactive experience. Furthermore, AEGEAN’s dedicated staff and volunteers delighted the young attendees with gifts and a meal before their return to school.

AEGEAN remains committed to supporting Crete’s prominent cultural events, collaborating closely with the Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion to launch initiatives that facilitate children’s access to enriching activities.

This venture stands as a testament to AEGEAN’s ongoing partnership with the Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion, underscoring their joint commitment to fostering cultural engagement among the island’s youth.
