AIME 2024 marks 63 per cent increase in exhibitors from previous year

The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) 2024, set to take place from the 19th to the 21st of February, marks a significant comeback in the world of business-to-business (B2B) travel trade conferences, especially after the hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, this year’s event promises an impressive layout with over 570 exhibitors, a 63% increase from the previous year, indicating a robust recovery and renewed enthusiasm in the industry.

AIME 2024 aims to bring together more than 600 buyers and 3,500 visitors across three days, showcasing a diverse range of international destinations including Fiji, India, Korea, and Sri Lanka. The event’s structure, designed to facilitate networking, learning, and business opportunities, highlights the event’s importance as a platform for global travel and tourism sectors to reconnect and explore new potentials.

The event kicked off with a knowledge program focused on the “4Ps of Glocalisation,” a concept introduced by keynote speaker Lisa Ronson, a renowned marketing professional and adjunct professor at Deakin Business School.

Ronson emphasised the critical balance between global and local (glocal) operations, especially in a post-pandemic world where interconnectedness has become paramount. Her discussion on people, planet, purpose, and profit, underlines the idea that focusing on ethical and conscious business practices leads naturally to economic success.

Following Ronson, Sebastian Terry, the author of “100 Things: What’s On Your List?”, shared his inspirational journey, further enriching the event’s offering with personal growth and professional development insights.

AIME 2024 not only serves as a beacon for the travel and meetings industry but also as a testament to the resilience and adaptability of businesses in the face of global challenges.
