Air France is enhancing its offerings for passengers on short and medium-haul flights by updating the interiors of all Embraer 190 aircraft operated by its regional partner, HOP!. In collaboration with Expliseat, a French firm known for its cutting-edge carbon fiber and titanium seats, Air France aims to introduce seating that not only weighs less but is also more sustainable, comfortable, durable, and functional. These custom-designed seats will be produced and assembled in Angers, France, and will feature Air France’s signature colors throughout the cabin, from the aircraft’s walls to its carpeting.
The renovation process for these aircraft is scheduled to commence post-summer at HOP!’s Clermont-Ferrand maintenance facility, with the first upgraded Embraer 190 expected to be operational by autumn 2024.
The new seats will align with the superior comfort standards found on the Airbus A220, a prominent aircraft in Air France’s short and medium-haul lineup. These advancements will be showcased at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany, from May 28 to 30, a key event for aviation industry professionals focused on cabin interior innovation.
